- The Denver Broncos just made the best move of the entire offseason! They were able to coax David Shaw to join Sean Payton, and George Paton in Denver. I'm struggling to express how jazzed I am about this. David Shaw is one of the best minds in the game and evaluates talent better than anyone. At Stanford he totally out punched his weight class and he helped produce 42 NFL Draft picks and six first-round selections! He has an eye for talent and this means that the Denver Broncos will have LOTS of hits in upcoming drafts. This is evidence that Sean Payton is widely respected in the league or David Shaw would not have joined this squad. This shows that the Walter Penner organization is running this business like a Fortune 500 Company and hiring experts who will have very specific roles. I cannot wait to see the talent he is able to identify and bring in that will make Sean Payton's offense do what he believes it can. It is no wonder Sean Payton has such a spring in his step, he's starting to have a dream team around him and we should all Bo-LIEVE that!

Building a better front office is a good start, hopefully that translates to the field. Jan to August is planning and hope, but September tells the truth.
we may not see this as the biggest day but I believe we'll see this as the biggest year in terms of coaching acquisitions. Now we just need Bo to pan out

I rather doubt that. Payton has a good relationship with George, & besides that, the jump from coaching to the business side is a serious leap & a completely different skill set. This guy grew up as the son of an NFL coach & was a 3 sport letterman at Stanford. He's an on-the-field type not an office type. He's got coaching in his blood, meaning he's probably going to look at this move as an eventual stepping stone to an NFL head coaching job, or at a minimum an OC job.

Paton needs a winning season, and another good draft to keep his job. He's safe for now, if you ask me, but I Bo-lieve!

He's a Senior Personnel Executive. They have two...Roman Phifer being the other. Basically he's another set of eyes in the room & probably has more college connections than some of the other guys they have. Down the road I wouldn't be surprised if he's moving on to a an NFL HC position somewhere.
