He is probably one of the best players with the least amount of tries. He always sacrificed and gave incredible assists.

I suppose underrated is relative. He was rated high enough to play for England but he seemed fairly average to me. So I’d say overrated. But that’s just my opinion

Eh, wouldn't say underrated. If you compare him with when Farrell and Ford came onto the scene then you could hardly say he is underrated.

Dunno mate, way I remember it the English were having wet dreams about him till he came up against Gavin Henson who made him look like a boy playing a man's game.

@@joshb9133 England won the Six Nations in 2011. The worst England team was 2004-2006 under Andy Robinson- 8 losses in 9 games at one point.

Great tribute. Great career and was a great player. Doesn’t get as much credit as he deserves. Loves to play flat and attack the line, has amazing hands. Surprisingly good in close quarters. Was a pretty good 12 too!

Always a good runner and really enjoyed him and Youngs combining for England in 2011. Surprisingly a great goal kicker then too with Dave Alred coaching him. Just wasn't the best tactical kicker and, like a few England playmakers since, found it difficult to control the game if it wasn't working to his natural game.

I'll never forget the 08/09 season. Him, Dupey, Vesty somehow becoming one of the best 12s in England, Croft, Castro, Kayser - quality side. Gutted he missed the Heineken Cup final through injury. If we didn't have such a good football team I'd be even more depressed at the current state of Tigers.
