Don't buy a mannequin/dressform. I say this as someone who owns two.
Another tip Make your daughter's princess dress soon. Your skill set may not up to it but you will learn as you do and its the perfect project to learn on. Actually plan on making two. Go to a charity shop and buy some old pretty sheets and make the first one. Then make a sparkle one.

Thank you so much for the advice i really do appreciate it I think I’m very scared of my sewing machine for some reason so I really do need to just get stuck in to making something to get over the fear of using it 😅
