  • Looking for the best food in Puerto Vallarta? Look no further! In this video, I'll give you a list of some of the top restaurants and street food stands in town. No need to waste your time watching me eat or listening to me talk - I'll simply give you the names of the places and the dishes you need to try. By the end of this video, you'll have at least 20 delicious places bookmarked for your trip, along with some cool things to do and an amazing place to stay.
    As a food lover, I know the best food is often found away from touristy areas. That's why I ventured out of Zona Romantica to explore some of the other neighborhoods where locals live, such as 5 de Diciembre and Pitillal. From the birria tacos at Birria Robles to the tongue and cheek tacos at Tacos de Cabeza el Chulo, I'll show you some of my personal favorites as well as recommendations from our local friends.
    We only had five days to explore, so I know I missed some great spots. If you have any suggestions for where I should go next time, please leave a comment! And if you're interested in even more great food in Puerto Vallarta beyond just tacos, check out my full video here: • Exploring Puerto Valla...

    Great video! Headed to PV for the first time in a few weeks, and the sheer number of food spots is a bit overwhelming - super helpful to get another intrepid traveler's recommendations!

      Thanks for the feedback and I’m glad you enjoyed the video! These recommendations are also provided with the help of a local chef of the restaurant Tre Piatti and a local food guide who is a friend of ours who brought us to some awesome spots, so it’s not just my opinion!
      Hope you have a great time in PV!

      My pleasure! And thank you for watching! I worked with Javier for the last two years and now he’s grown his business so much that he bought a second storefront up north of Puerto Vallarta and has been too busy to even send me new rugs to put on the ETSY. 😂 So awesome to see! We should have the online store restocked by mid 2023 he’s telling me.

    Excellent info and visuals, thank you very much! Rexognized a few of my own favourites and learned of a few new ones to me. I only wish the captions stayed on a little longer for me to bookmark all these places on my google maps: I am a pretty fast reader, but even at 0.75 speed I couldn't keep up in too many spots

      Thank you! And I apologize for that, I’m still learning what works best for people and I guess I figured people could pause the video real quick to jot down the name and then press play to resume the video. I am taking all constructive feedback and will apply it in the future! :) thanks for watching!

    How does your amigo javier make such colorful rugs, pillow cases and more with no dyes? (8:03)

    • @dankeats
      @dankeats  Před rokem +1

      He informed me that they forage for local bugs, plants, and things like that and then mix together colors to create natural dyes. He showed me pictures of his dad crushing up red and blue beetles on mortars, its pretty cool. They have videos online if you CZcams for Teotitlan Del Valle rug making.

    Sad to see only places in el viejo vallarta. My hometown it’s much more tan just a few blocks. So many hidden gems outside that zone in PV. Have fun and explore more 😊

    • @dankeats

      What area of town are you in? Maybe next time you can show me around your neighborhood. This video was just to show people what’s easily accessible if staying downtown but less touristy than the typical restaurants people have included in their videos and food guides elsewhere online. I also included a few spots in Pittillal based off the recommendations of locals I met.

    • @97Rfr
      @97Rfr Před rokem

      @@dankeats Well give a try to the versalles area. There's a reason locals don't go downtown that often. But by all means, if they feel more comfortable in those areas, there's nothing wrong about it. Just enjoy your stay!

    • @dankeats
      @dankeats  Před rokem

      @@97Rfr I highlighted Tortas Ahogadas Tony in the video which is in that area. We also enjoyed Barbacoa de Borrego estilo Hidalgo. I only made it out that way one day because it’s a 20 minute drive from where we were staying but I did see a lot of good looking places!

    Curious to know if you speak Spanish ? I find it hard to get out and communicate

    • @dankeats
      @dankeats  Před 2 lety

      I speak enough to ask basic questions, place food orders, greet people, and - at the very least - ask someone if they know English. If you can get at least that down, people are VERY friendly and many know much better English than my Spanish. Especially in more touristy places like Puerto Vallarta!
