Khalida and Alder seem to be two of the only women with any sense of those seeds, of what they can do. Most modern witches aren't allowed to practice them, so they've fallen out of use and out of common knowledge. Chances are those same seeds are capable of manipulating and folding reality, if the Spree are already able to manipulate the elements and control minds en masse.
