- Merfolk are the classic tempo tribe, hailing all the way back to alpha where Lord of Atlantis was a great creature in it's own right. Beat down in premodern with the fish while countering opponents spells and keeping them locked under a winter orb.

IMPORTANT***** PSIONIC BLAST IS NOT LEGAL IN PREMODERN ------- IT SHOULD BE WONDER. I make these very late at night after work and used the template from my old school merfolk deck tech. sorry for any confusion.
Your videos have made me build me 3 premodern decks. Now we just need the format to grow in paper.

I know I should have subscribed to the channel a long time ago, because the content of the premodern format is dynamic, concise, well explained and with a colorful interface and a very precise explanation structure of the decks. Glad you made a deck tech for this. The deck definitely has it’s flaws but certainly has many strong matchups. The Daze/Wasteland/WOrb combination is very tough for some decks. Very inexpensive to put together and have as a fun addition to your personal gauntlet.
Yeah it's a fun deck, I should have changed the psionic blast to a wonder though which I forgot to do after I made the old school merfolk deck tech

The plural of Merfolk is Merfolk, I made this when I was super tired and I don't live in an English speaking country

My take on Merfolk (an archetype I'm very familiar with) is Merfolk Opposition.
I'm testing it with Mind Stones and Sea Scryer to accelerate into a Turn 3 Opposition. With this strategy, the deck becomes a Midrange Control Blend that aims to lock the opponent out of the game. When the lock is tight, the deck switches to an aggro approach with the Lords pumping the board for an alpha strike. I think this is the best way to play merfolk in Premodern.

I plan to in the future it's just I think those will take a lot more time to edit and also my camera is really bad so the quality of video will be lower
What makes the package of merfolk better than playing other creatures? Most of the creatures you showed were real stinkers, all the power was in the spells.
As I mentioned in the video, it's probably not a tier 1 power deck and more about fun. But it can still do really well and win events, the looters can help to smooth out draws and find counters and the guy that returns artifacts can be useful for getting back winter orb. But a lot of premodern and old school players just want to play something fun or nostalgic.
