You must be forgetting he’s an absolutely average pitcher that doesn’t play the field so really he’s not a two way when Ruth played the field and pitched not and didn’t dh. So is he really a two way player and is he really that good a 3.5 era is average a 250 batting average is below average his strikeout rates are way higher then the league average. Where did he save baseball. He’s an average hitter and an average pitcher at best

That didn't take long for Shohei to get to 100 HRs. And the Angels announcers make some of the most quick-witted and creative calls.
My favorites are his home runs on the road, like the bomb in Seattle and his home run to close out the gem he pitched in Detroit. The reaction from the opposing crowd is something you rarely hear.
Shohei Ohtani ought to be liable for the whiplash to so many pitchers... How the ball launches from his bat is amazing!

Love the guy. The only knock I could possibly have is that his batting average has gone down since he started hitting homers. He was a .285 and .286 hitter his first two seasons with modest 20 home runs. Now he's hitting 40 homers, but his batting average has dropped to the .250s and .260s.
And he is a ace pitcher.

I remember the home run at 4:54 I don't watch much baseball, more of a casual fan, but I'm a sox fan. The sox played such a good game and matt barnes is a solid pitcher, and then boom shohei hits that bomb. It sucked that the sox had to lose such a well played game and my immediate reaction was disappointment, but then I realized its good for the game. Any other player I'd be pissed but its shohei
