  • Resilience is an important trait for leaders to possess because it allows them to persevere through difficult times and bounce back from setbacks.
Leaders who have resilience are better equipped to handle the challenges and uncertainties that come with leadership positions.
In his book titled, “Resilience,” author and former US Navy SEAL, Eric Grietens, defines resilience as “the virtue that enables people to move through hardship and become better.” Grietens goes on to explain that “resilience is the key to a well-lived life. If you want happiness or success, you need resilience.”

This was very good. I work with people who struggle with addiction. After they have gotten their lives on track, some become leaders in various areas. I believe that these principals of resilience apply not only to their ability to lead others, but also their ability to stay in recovery. I believe that "Resilient Recovery" equals long-term recovery... And long-term recovery builds trust in one's ability to lead others.

I listen to this podcast regularly while I workout in the morning! Thanks for all of the great content. One thought on content- I manage a team that is in person and also In other states. I am curious on strategies to better discern which topics and situations deserve a phone call or in person touch base versus which can be emailed. I am often told I like meetings too much, but I also want people to hear my voice and tone whenever possible but in the essence of speed am I overthinking this and emails could be ok? And how do I get people to read them so I know they know? Thank you for your consideration of a podcast on this topic!
