Not that I want to discuss religion, but let me play the "Devil's Advocate" for a moment here in both a metaphorical and very literal sense. How is God any different from a tyrant if he only saves people who believe in him? If I exercise my free will that God supposedly gave me, and I choose not to believe in him, I am expected to be sent to a fiery hell to be tormented and tortured for all eternity.
