Here's Max Brenner performing Francisco Tárrega's "Estudio Brillante de Alard" on a 2020 Christian Koehn classical guitar double top with spruce-balsa-spruce for the soundboard and Indian rosewood back and sides. Recorded at the Guitar Salon International showroom in Santa Monica, CA.
Huge thanks to the folks at Apogee Electronics (ApogeeDigital.com) for the use of their Ensemble interface in these recordings.

I am a simply man. I see Liam Hemsworth and I click like.
Haven't got that one before. Thanks!
@@maxbrenner2819 I also thoguht "Liam Hemsworth" the moment I saw the thumbnail haha. Amazing playing of this piece! :)
@@maxbrenner2819 you're amazing!
This is an extraordinarily technical piece performed beautifully. Bravo!
Phantastische Klänge Einmalig.beste Gitarren spiler und beste Gitarre von Christian Koehn
BEAUTIFUL guitar, wow.
My.god. No words to praise your talent. Beautiful
Hard piece, great performance. Bravo!
Absolutely smashing, great job!
Sublime!
I applaud your wonderful performance.
I love the progress of the beautiful melody.
Thank you very much.
Thank you
Beautiful!
So cool man so increíble
Gran interpretación
Beautiful. Very good.
Oh wie schön, das hat mich jetzt richtig aufgebaut, danke 🙏
Danke
Wonderful!!!!
Bravo!!
Love you and your playing😘😘😘
Bravo!
difficult tecnique, beautiful interpretation👍
Well played! This is my favorite interpretation since Parkening.
Fantástico
Fantastic! That is one relaxed cat.
Recently I decided to use nails mid passage after reading some quotes from Sor and Tarrega saying to use nails sparingly and for special effects. This is the first guitarist I have heard doing that rather than nails for an entire passage and back to a softer sound for the next passage.
bien tocado
NatureScene on SCETV anyone?
RIP Rudy Mancke.
Beautifully played. Out of curiosity - don't guitarists normally put a cloth (or wear long sleeves) to avoid their sweat damaging the guitar? (Especially one costing $9,000)
Some do, some don't. You're right in that sweat will contribute to the wearing away of the french polish, but it wouldn't actually damage the guitar until the french polish fully rubs off in that area, where they could take the guitar to a luthier to just reapply the finish.
He wanted to show us his muscles. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ That is the reason why he was wearing short sleeves.
@@aaaaaaaaabaaaaaaaaa Thanks!
Hey one of the better executions. Nice instrument sounds great.
Tarrega is such a right hand monster lol
Buff musician.... nice.
This is OK .
Brilliant playing... a bit too brisk a tempo for my taste, though. The tune shouldn't be a race to the finish. My 2-bits.
For the record I think the tempo is actually very good
@@Cyrus_II I agree with Frank.
Maybe he's been listening to Parkening.
I haven't heard this at a slower tempo and I should look up another performance, but IMHO the performer struggled a bit to keep up and keep this clean. Julian Bream also played this at a very high tempo, but I find it easier on the ears.
Granted, I'm comparing a highly-skilled guitarist to a virtuoso, but I can only reference what I know.
@@ClassicalPan I just listened to Bream's interpretation and have to disagree. This version by Brenner is technically superior and exceptionally easy to listen to. Perhaps my favorite interpretation of this classic.
Demasiado rápido y con poco sentimiento, muy frio
El tempo está bien, de hecho un poco lento
Mejor sea sincero y diga " a mi a este tempo nunca me va a salir felicidades"
Doesn't sound like he's quite got this piece under control - perhaps a tad too hard for him?
No
Please, play something. Fucking please!
