  • Kodiak flex bow 10x14 Overview. Best tent of 2019!?
Overall, I think this is the best tent for family camping, hunting/fishing trips & car camping! I think it is worth every penny! It should last a life time. #outsidethebox #kodiakcanvas #Familycamping

It's amazing how much space is in those. I love the rain fly porch that directs water forward to one point.

I have the 10x10, great tent. Make sure you season it if you haven’t (set it up, hose it down, let it dry - seals the stitches). Mine has been through a lot and I love it. Add a Mr Buddy heater and 20lb propane and you don’t even notice cold weather. ;-)

texpat is a mr buddy heater safe to use in this tent?

Anthony Bates Totally safe. Open the vents a bit to prevent condensation, place on a table/baking sheet so floor doesn’t get too warm and you’re good. See czcams.com/video/3OdbOLtsH3I/video.html for video test.

Just got mine delivered this week, going to get it set up this weekend. Been wanting one for a few years, can’t wait to use it this fall. Thanks for the video.

My 10 by 10 drys out pretty fast. No leaks . I had a issue with a seam tearing. Kodiak sent a new tent body. No questions. Pretty good

Thanks for the great review. I just bought this exact tent set it up and added some additional waterproofing to the seams not because it needed it but because I just wanted the additional waterproofing. Pretty great tent!

Really need one of these. I live in the Southeast and feel like I need the model with the side triangle windows.

Thanks for the informative vid! Using a guy line on the center awning grommet to shed rain is the first I've seen. Great tip! I just set up the same tent in my yard to "season with water" also to experience the process before first camping. Left it up overnight and went to take down the next morning except the roof was wet from dew. Despite no rain the roof was still damp near sunset so I placed the semi folded tent in my house and put on a fan. I've read mold will ruin the canvas tents. Any suggestions?

Yes. The most important thing with canvas tents is to keep them dry as possible when putting them away, Try to avoid putting it away dirty and damp. CHEERS!

The manual says just to lower one pole if you're expecting precipitation so the water runs off to the side.

Cabela's has a new tent that is far better than the Kodiak Canvas. It's called the Cabela's Instinct® Outfitter 12' x 16' Tent.

The Kodiak is terrible in high winds. It's possible to sew some additional guy lines attachment points along the perimeter of the tent, approximately 2 feet off the ground, but most people don't have a robust enough sewing machine to handle the job. The Kodiak also sucks in the wintertime when there are heavy snow falls. Also there is no good way to add a stove jack to allow you to heat the inside of the tent with a wood stove. If you put the stove jack on the tent's top rain water will run right in. And if you try to put the stove jack on the tent's side walls the stove pipes will be too close to the tent material. The Instinct Outfitter tent is a double wall design so it will be much warmer than the Kodiak, and it will handle high winds and heavy snow.

Wrong. You are hilariously misinformed.. These tents do fantastic in wind and snow. And they DO NOT need guy lines either. There are literally HUNDREDS of videos confirming this.

We got blasted with wind and snow for a week during our elk hunt this year...the Kodiak 10x14 held up like a house! I mean like a week of cutting trees every morning just to get the truck anywhere.

Everything you typed is literally false. The Kodiak is amazing in high winds. The Cabelas is inferior by far.
