"You fool! Warren is currently unavailable. Please press 1 to leave a message!"
lol
He said the thing!
That intro lol
It wasn't Warren who was dead, its me, because I died laughing!
I fell for it as well 🤣
Me too!! Classic!!!
Me too - I don't know if the mood was not somewhat shattered by it, but it was a great joke, nonetheless.
That was great.
I was hoping for something like that.
God damn it .... I thought Warren was going to make it this time! 🤣
You fool! Lol
@@Orgruk 🤣👍🏼❤️
Living in Regina, Canada.
Trust me x.
Blessed Be Xxx 🙏🏼 ❤️ 🍀 🗺️
You fool lol
One day. . .one day. . .
I almost feel like commissioning Brian Blessed to announce in astonishment, "Warren's alive?!?"
Finally, we get the iconic story with the new iconic scream. Not gonna lie, that one caught me by surprise
I've bought the merch 👍🏼
FINALLY,
I may be laid to rest now, complete
@@janetcw9808thank for the headd up. i was gonna sleep to this
When my friends get murdered I always tell the police that a "dark cloud" surrounds my memory, and they let ME go home
A legend begins...
Legends never di..., oh wait.
HE SAID IT!!!HE SAID THE THING!!!!
I'm saving this for bedtime, he might still make it!
Omg!…I said the exact same thing…i am outside(2 years into the future from you by the way)…,after that intro I told myself,no this is for evening time after dinner ,I can’t waste it now!
Warren story when? Lol that intro.
Edit: oh this is that Warren lmao!
I will never tire of this story.
Same ...
My very first Lovecraft story, and as such it will hold a very special place in the black void that is my heart.
Just remember, you fool, Warren is dead
The opening killed me!!! Well played...
Well, you certainly caught me with the intro.... 🤔 🤣
I can't tell you how much I enjoy these recordings, lovecrafts style really "clicks" with this sort of narration/voicework. I don't think I would have found his body of work accessible otherwise. Thanks for the time and effort you put into these!
Ok, I’ve listened to it a dozen times now. The opening gambit is bloody brilliantly delivered Ian. Every time makes me chuckle
Haha the intro gotnme
Truly outstanding work! You’ve outdone yourself today with that voice acting!
Also goosebumps in the end for hearing that iconic phrase
Loved the ‘you fool...’ and the merch idea! This stuff will become legendary urban, rural legendary ...anybody called Warren might find Where’s Warren? calls as annoying as anybody called Wally...
I loved the intro,as if the thing were remembering what story this was, lol!
HA-HAH! The first 5 seconds killed me.
When HP Lovecraft scares me less then reality.
Episodes like this are why we love you guys.
You guys made the pandemic/lockdown way less horrible. Much obliged. 🙌
Just go outside. Scared of a cold?
You fool! Warren is...well, if you don't know by now you'll know by the end of this story.
Can we keep that intro going forward please?
I searched in vain for this swamp and graveyard for years when I lived near the Gainesville Pike. Maybe I lucked out.....
The area was still creepy at night, like the time my Jeep engine cut out and died in between Gainesville and Jacksonville!
Great story and narration! The beginning is especially awesome!
This is my favorite Randolph Carter story.
Outstanding intro.
Well done, Ian. Perfect Intro. This story is one of Lovecrafts more broadly entertaining stories, a stand out.
Just so you know, this channel is one of only 3 that I allow to notify me of any new content, and that is because you put out quality, not constantly spamming your subscribers with nonsense. Your channel is a great thing, and you should be proud of your work.
William!! A year later, I can't help but wonder....who are the other two??!😊🇬🇧
@@ktcooki276 funny thing, I had to check, and I guess I turned off the other 2. But not Horrorbabble.
Warren, Warren, where art thou Warren?
Nearly spoiled your own ending :)
Love your re-dos.
Just started and already awesome!!!! I'll be back at the end Warren.
Poor Warren we knew him well and yet the end is only the beginning.
This story's ending was what I found most intriguing about your channels introductions. Since then, I've heard multiple new stories in this genre thanks to your brilliant narration. Thank you for everything you do, and thank you for doing the story that brought me to you channel! If anyone reads this, check out NEMESIS by HP Lovecraft on this channel. Another great piece!👏👏👏
Loved the intro. Thanks for this interpretation. It is extraordinary.
Thanks again, sir!
That intro was SO funny 😭 HB never misses!
Here in Florida.. NOT TOO FAR From BIG CYPRESS SWAMP..
Hmmm, I WONDER..
A wonderful example of why narration is so much more than just reading words from a page. It's about understanding the characters, their motivations and the cadence of the story.
superb, couldn't wait for the final line
Great intro.😂
Bela agrees.
Much needed! Thanks Ian and Jen!
I remember your first reading of this tale, and I gotta say you haven't lost your touch! A pleasure as always to hear these. And the bit of humor at the beginning was nicely done 👾👍
My goodness! What a very funny beginning. The man's sense of humour is subtle and fantastic!
What can a say . ART 🎨 AND BLIND HORROR. WHAT A Tale masterfully done. Bravo Sir Bravo.
Lovecraft once said he intended for The Outsider to be a sequel to this.
I think what's going on is that Harley Warren wasn't killed by the undead things in the tomb, he himself is also undead, kept alive artificially like Dr. Munoz or the zombies from Reanimator. He's researching incorruptible corpses because, like Dr. Munoz before him, his body is still decaying and he's looking for a way to stop it. He fails and when we see him again in Outsider, not only has he deteriorated into a grotesque zombie, his brain has also begun to rot which is why he's lost his memory.
I hit this once a week. Because the openingmakes me laugh
Best one yet. 100 out of 10 stars. The opening...pure gold
Ooh... Good one! The beginning had me ROLLING in my easy chair! Not an easy feat.
Thank you Horrorbabble!
Horrorbabble, your channel is the best in this dimension...some gentleman recommended you to me and I must say...thanks Warren!!!👍👌😷
.....when you forget your at work and get to into the story you start acting out parts.......whops
What a way to go!.. Another awesome reading Sir.
Aloha I guess this is what "closure" is. Mahalo Jen & Ian
"Heard it well up from the innermost depths of that damnable open sepulchre as i watched amorphous, necrophagous shadows dance beneath an accursed waning moon. And this is what it said: "WE'VE BEEN TRYING TO REACH YOU ABOUT YOUR CAR'S EXTENDED WARRANTY..."
I've been listening for a couple of years and finally I found out what the intro is about. Perfect opening!
In no way am I a narrator, at all lol but if anyone would be interested to hear the reading of the first part of my story, I would love to hear what you think. I'd greatly appreciate it
That intro 🤣😂 epic!!!
You totally got me. Great narration
"YOU FOOL! W-wha- oh, right"
xDDDDD
😆 I love this, its your signature tale. Short enough to repeat regularly. Thank you.
This was an awesome classic story tonight. I enjoyed it very much. Have a wonderful weekend. Thank you.💖
Ahh, so that's what it is from. I knew it was Lovecraft, but wasn't sure which one. Brilliant. Hope you had a good end of 2021.
I am glad to see that my cease and desist order was taken seriously and Warren was not declared dead.
Never mind--I listened to the audio.
Can't wait to get the NEW Merch
You fool, Warren is dead! You did a great job narrating this story. A fellow listener help me find the genesis of this opening phrase I love!
That intro got me good Ian, bravo
Haha love the updated intro
I was about to write, "Nice to know I survived for once..." but then I realized, You Fool, you've posted here already! Cheers Warren, whose mind, like Carter's, is clouded!
Warren
Schrodinger's friend
I saw it coming a mile away you fool !!!
Hahahahah ! That made me laugh, properly laugh.
Keep up the good work fella and stay safe.
Are you telling me Warren is still alive?!
Edit: Didn't think too much about the title - only that this is Horrorbabble XD
I found it on joining the horrorbabble club .going threw and listening again to these great storys Warren at long last .love craft would of said no one could say it better than our Ian 😀😀😀💜🙏.
Ha! Warren lives! Warren!
One of my favorite Lovecraft stories! Great job
Warren status check complete.
Thank you for not spoiling the ending
Flawless performance! Look to see Warren no more........!
Damn I cracked up at the intro and now I have to go back into serious-mode lol. Ty for another reading Ian
was waiting for this 😑
listened to another audio, have to state that was bellow par
this on the other hand is not 😄
much love Ian ❤️
Aha! At last...! Thank you very much. 😊
Warren: Return the slab!
The intro was perfect.
This channel is absolutely amazing and awesome!😎👍
This is such a great work of art.
This is one of Lovecraft's I've not read. Excellent stuff!!
Genuine stomach flips of dread, and genuinely upset about Warren.
Excellent as always. Thank you Mr. Gordon.
Thank you, sir, for that intro
Wonderful work as always.
Okay the intro was very meta lol
Poor Warren is immortal! Thus... somewhere between totally alive and absolutely dead 💀. That’s what happens when u work with Randolph Carter. He’s floating in an evil limbo somewhere. Great discussion point, though! Thanks for the wonderful tales.
Can't believe it took me this long to listen to this one and get the joke lolz. Love it!
this is great, exactly what I was looking for
I thoroughly appreciate this channel ty
The reread is waaaay better, if that could be conceived to be truth! Your timbre in the original reading is more than adequate but you’ve nailed both the phonetics and the delivery this time. A very, very good listen that’s easy to digest despite the relatively obscure and jarring language structure Howard used.
Very cool and humorous intro and the story is magnificent! Am head over heels for Lovecraft's mastery of imagery that paints such a picture for the reader that they will literally leave their present consciousness and be transported into the setting itself.
Bwahaha omg, that intro!!!
"You Fool! Warren is Dead!" Gets me every time
Thank you! Good job!
