I downloaded Lawnchair 14 beta and replaced the old Lawnchair 12 with it and love it. The widgets didn't seem to be working so i restarted my phone and everything has been perfect since.
Started with Nova, currently on Smart Launcher. What's the major difference with Lawnchair?

I can't get the at a glance working right. For example it will only show the time at a glance on the lock screen. Also only time and weather work on the home Page. I don't understand if i have to do anything extra to get it to work right

I think we have come a long way since those of launcher and root and custom rom days, nowadays almost every Android skin has good default launcher with decent amount of customisablity(like even stock Android now has lock screen customisations and all, not to forget the good lock of samsung, and the new hyper os of Xiaomi, and Oppo/Realme/OnePlus have really good customisation in the color os, funtouch os of vivo is really good on that regards too), and the os already has enough customisations and features that you don't really need root for anything, and on top of that rooting is a mess nowadays with so many OEMs disabling security features after unlocking bootloader (like knox in samsung) and some OEMs don't allow you to unlock bootloader (like some realme phones) and some of them make you wait for a week or 15 days to unlock(like realme and xiaomi) and the rest of them don't have good custom rom support/root support and some features on some devices won't work after root.
In short rooting is a mess in 2024
The only minus is that it doesn't, still, support folders on the app drawer. Something so basic but so important.
Does this launcher have nested folders? (the ability to put folders full of app icons in other folders)
Actually... Passkeys stored on your phone can be pinged while on a computers browser. So the browser will ping your phone and ask for authentication.
You then just pick up your phone, use your fingerprint or face and approved.
This is actually more secure then having passkeys sync over an online account.
I have a Oneplus 12 and i'm regularly haveing problems with the home button. Sometimes it just does not work. Im using 3 button navigation tho. Anyone knows why? And my feed also does not work.

My device runs on Stock Android 11, if I try Third party launcher the Gesture bar gets stuck on side of stuck on Chin side of screen so i forcefully have to use Navigation Buttons. It doesn't happens with System launcher. Any solution please

the only problem with any other launcher that i have ever tried is that none of them support the max refresh rate of my phone screen
the launcher would be running at 60hz
while the default launcher would be running at 144hz

Tried it and it looks good, but a couple of issues for me (S23). The google feed wouldn't reliably be accessible. Long press on apps didn't go to the quick access, but the simple 'app info', etc menu. And it wouldn't reliably add widgets to the home screen. Good, but not quite ready for everyday use for me.

I can't stand a horizontal app drawer, that's one reason why I don't like Samsung app drawer. This is finna get installed on my S23 ultra asap

I wish they update nova launcher's theme as per material you guidelines. The present look although it's based on material you, isn't so pleasing and looks outdated.
If this launcher would allow padding the widgets so they take up tthe full width of the home screen when resizing, and allowing you to search any hidden apps within the app drawer like Nova does, I won't mind making this my go to home launcher since Nova keeps crashing on me anytime I try to restyle a specific icon in the app drawer or create a widget.
Finally After 2 yrs
Three nits:
1) If you have a work profile enabled, the app drawer has two big ass buttons at the top: Personal and Work. There's no way to disable it and get all apps mixed in the drawer.
2) There's no option to choose the default screen. Pressing the home button always goes to the 1st screen.
3) The backup/restore functionality is great, but it does not seem to restore all screens. The screens with widgets are lost (at least for me).
Otherwise, greate launcher and after much configuring it's now my default launcher, substituting "Lean Launcher" which is now abandoned.

I have a question, hope somebody knows the solution: when I go to settings - general - icon style - choose Lawnicons pack - themed icons - home screen, then many supported icons in the app drawer still change, even though I specifically asked to apply icon pack to the home screen only. is there a fix or workaround?

@@kurajic I got it to work. I had to clear the data and cache toggled the switch in the settings. But then I had to reset the entire home screen all over ago. But now it's working. Hope that helps.
