- Let's be honest, this should only take a few hours max to complete. Next time I'll have all the right tools to change the top mounts and bearings on the suspension of the Astra

I think it’s the cv joint too. The “ticking” sound goes faster when the velocity is increasing.
Thanks bud. Looks like I'll be doing an outer cv shortly 😂
Driveshaft, I've replaced both sides very common fault especially if you've lowered the car.
Cheers dude. You know how low mine is 😂
You need to get a torque gun to zip the bolts off. Pack the top mounts with grease. It helps stop them rusting out which is common.
That's a decent idea pal 👌 nice one
Sounds like cv joint
Cheers mate. Reckon that's gonna be my first thing to replace
Sounds like drive shaft to me
Cheers mate. I'm gonna try that and/or cv's
Hard to tell over the Internet but if its turning left u put load on the right so it could be the cv joint or wheel bearing.. I'd say cv joint based on the noise it makes
Cheers bud
Try removing the drop links and see if it goes away i had a creak on my corsa and the drop link was starting to seize took them off and the noise went away
The drop links were oem and were changed about a year ago. Cheers though mate, if the cv joint don't stop it, I'll try that!
Been watching alot of your videos on the vxr as I currently own a 2009 sri, should i still get a vxr or should i go with an st, im really not too sure now 🤣🤣. Great videos though pal
I guess it comes down to what you're looking for from the car? The usual mods of intake, intercooler, exhaust, Remap done to both cars, the vxr will be quicker. The vxr would actually be quicker than most cars. The st is bigger and heavier but sounds 10x better. I'm 6'2 and don't feel like I have the amount of room I need when I'm sat in the vxr
@@mastersmods i feel your struggle im also 6’2 lol, my sri has decent room but only cus its the 5 door version, i do want the vxr as my dad used to own one when i was younger, so will probably get that, i just need to make sure i get a decent one without any underlying issues, cheers for the response mate
@Stillceekay there's plenty around that are still decent. Heck, depending how long you're willing to wait for one, mine might be up for sale 😂
@@mastersmods 🤣🤣🤣
I got same problem the garage say my spring is shorter than the other side but like you I think it could be top mounts but not now since I watched your video if you sorted yours what was it thanks be much appreciated
Definitely driveshaft Ash just had to do one on our lasses car
Okay mate thank you. Most people saying similar thing so gonna have to go with it
@@mastersmods no worries buddy hope you get it sorted always look forward to your content
@user-or6ok9wi9e thanks for that mate, really appreciate it
Quick question bud I need to do the top my Astra H but I don’t like using spring compressor ( bad experience with them 😂) I’ve been told on the Astra the spring isn’t under tension so I’m able remove the mounts without the spring trying to take my head off 😂😂 is this true
It's never good practice or particularly safe to take them of without spring compressors as they are still under load. However, it is possible. I just wouldn't recommend it 😂
sounds like something is not tight holding the wheel. Maybe you got some loose bolt
I've been under there loads mate with the spanners, I'd be surprised if it was that lol. Most people saying cv joint so I'll start there I reckon and I'll go over and all bolts again while I'm there
@@mastersmods maybe wheel bearing
Cv joint or inner steering arm sound like to me buddy
Gonna try the cv joint first I reckon
what makes it rare?
The colour being on an astra vxr
