Then he was a blue jacket. Then he was a Capital. It happens in hockey, and to us Wings fans, how many of those 3 cup championships do you think we would've won if he wasn't there? Stop hating on him, you should thank him for everything he gave to this team.
im a huge wings fan and it was sad to see him go but i dont hold anything against him. he did so much for the wings and helped them win 3 cups. hes a great player and is free to go wherever he wants but it did suck to see him go
Agreed. I loved Sergei, and I would love to see either happen. Even though after '98 he seemed to be the Wings' scapegoat, and like many others I hated to see how he went out, but the guy did whatever it took to win, even playing defense under Scotty. Honoring him would be great for him and the organization
@Kongatthegates00 you do know if we kept fedorov, we couldn't ever sign zetterberg, datsyuk and franzen to those long term contracts because he would've used it all on sergei
No he didn't, I was at that game as well. He played and was booed every time he had the puck, and even scored a goal to boot. Detroit won the game by a crazy margin, but I'll never forget it.
The nhl needs to give him a contract with the wings he can still play at his age which is sad that he is playing in Russia although he is from there he should be playing in the nhl cuz he is a goalies worst nightmare I think if I did come back he would be great
That’s because you don’t know exactly what happened. That offer was never made... it was dangled pass expiration which was Ilitchs version of 🖕to Fedorov for negotiating the previous deal on his terms. 🖕🖕🖕Ilitch and his goons for not working out that contract and for not retiring the 91 jersey.
It's not him personally.... He was a bit stuck up and left on bad terms. I Remember going to see his first game in Detroit as a Mighty Duck. Except he chickened out at the last minute and cried "Flu-Like Symptoms"
The Greatest Mighty Ducks Of All Time
I wish they still were mIghty Ducks

Heartbreaking.
I miss those vintage jerseys. Whoever decided to change them ruined the team.
i am too
Agreed, I would actually like his number to be "honoured" (not retired but "honoured" like the maple leafs do)
quack quack quack quack quack.... GOOOOO DUCKS!
@ARod016 i loved fedorov in detroit........he was never at home with any of the other teams!.
@Kongatthegates00 you do know if we kept fedorov, we couldn't ever sign zetterberg, datsyuk and franzen to those long term contracts because he would've used it all on sergei
@templetonbob dude I remember watching that movie when I was 11 years old. As corny as this sounds but that movie made me want to play hockey.

sorry people, you cant hate on federov unless you have given more to the sport than he has...good luck with that
"I am a limey fuck."
I AM A SELLOUT WHEN DETROIT OFFERS ME THE EXACT AMOUNT AS THE DUCKS
That’s because you don’t know exactly what happened. That offer was never made... it was dangled pass expiration which was Ilitchs version of 🖕to Fedorov for negotiating the previous deal on his terms. 🖕🖕🖕Ilitch and his goons for not working out that contract and for not retiring the 91 jersey.

@templetonbob I personally just like THe Ducks adding "mighty just sounds tacky.
Bullshit, He's a Wing at Heart! Nothing against the former "Mighty Ducks"...btw why did you guys change your name, it was so awesome
It must have been a different game that year because he got booed during warm-ups and missed due to "Flu-Like Symptoms"
so sad
@carbonfiberfan So to me your opinion of the teams former name being "tacky" is ridiculous, but whatever to each his own
@templetonbob clearly a subjective call but its better than the Columbus Blue Jackets.
@dbray1
I'm Steve Yzerman, and I hate Federov.
I approve this message.
@carbonfiberfan You probably didn't grow up with the movies then
I am Joshua Jackson.
I am currently reappeared from existance on Fringe.
I used to live by a Creek and kiss Tom Cruise's wife.
I am a Mighty Duck.
hes a Metalurg now. haha
I cheer for MIGHTY DUCKS, not for ducks in black fucking jerseys
I am an asshole
He was a cancer to the team.
I had to thumbs down this only because seeing Fedorov in a jersey other than a Red Wings Jersey is an abomination.
