Q: Why is the video only in 360p?
A: Because I make my videos available the instant they're done uploading, but it takes youtube time(up to several hours) to finish processing the videos in full HD. A lot of people either watch on platforms that 360p is fine, or simply don't mind the lower quality and want to watch the videos asap. Either watch in low quality or be patient.

A: i5 Ivy Bridge 3570k; 120 gig SSD; 1tb Standard HD(for recording); 8 gigs ram; nVidia Geforce GTX 770 (I run ArmA anywhere between 20-60 FPS, on med-high settings)

A: Fraps for video and system audio; Audacity for personal audio.
Q: Why don't you play in First Person?
A: I'm a 3rd person gamer. I hate first person. It's unrealistically restricting. Please don't try to "convince" me otherwise as if I am unaware of the gaming style I prefer.

A: US Army 99-06, Radio Operator(25C). Non-Combat Veteran.
Q: Is that AI or real people?
A: If it's an ArmA Mission it's AI unless I very specifically state otherwise. The 506th doesn't PvP.

It's because their realism unit is based off one regiment from the 101st AB.

Love the teamwork @ 16:05....one guy calling bearing and range for m203 onto enemy spotted in window in small building. Soldier we're following confirms building/window at bearing...and then, trusting his team-mates's range estimate....lobs a round at appropriate trajectory.....follow up explosion dead on target. Very cool
This is impressive game, to say the least......intensely realistic. I personally wouldn't have the extended time to put into a game like this...can see hours are needed...but I can see how would be go to military sim for serious gamers.
That guy alone was probably looking for the Seals and wanted to help them....

I know I'm late to the party with this comment but... Amazing example of keeping your head on a swivel. So many times you put fire down range on targets and immediately shift your arc of responsibility to cover your team's flanks. Great job of avoiding tunnel vision. Fantastic example of a true team member keeping everyone covered. Well done.

No mean to sound like a smartass is because its by the same people who made OFP. OFP had to become ArmA cause of codemasters, so basically ArmA 3 is the true OFP 4

Hey Jester I have a few questions. First off I am a Vet and I was wondering if you guys accept people who want to join you? Second question do you guys make these maps/scenarios or does it come with the game. I am thinking about building a PC mainly for this game because it looks awesome but I only want to play it if there are groups out there who I can join to play the game realistic as you guys do.
Search up the 15th MEU, 27th ID, or 11th MEU for the most surrealistic gameplay for you although you may be hard to please as you have real experience or search devildoggamer he plays surrealistically as well and is an Ex-Marine or held in reserves now.

Apologies if this has been asked before....but is there a script for ArmA 3 that makes ALL of the AI react to gunfire within a close region (IE- a village?). I saw that some guys react, but there were still some AI that went on about their business as if they weren't alarmed at a gun fight in the same village.
The video should have started out with a screen saying: Warning do not watch with headphones with 100% volume your head might explode.

instead of "contact right right right right like 50 meters." the proper way, well in the Army. It's "Contact contact. Enemy (rifleman/machinegun/armour/etc) 3 o'clock 50 meters"

Idk if I could get my guys in my unit to play with me I'd probably have a blast. I feel like this is the type of game that would piss me off playing with random people though.
Great play as usual, very tactical and great communications. I think that a small section like this attacking a platoon plus sized objective with an APC, technical and multiple bunkers is not very realistic. Great gameplay but just not realistic. I was thinking that this same mission could be a special SF reconnaissance for an upcoming line company attack. I would love to see such a future mission come alive from the reconnaissance of such a mission...

Why are those SEALs wearing 101st ABN patches?
The AI seems kinda slow, like statues , no enemy firing from rooms during building clearance made it seem pretty easy.. Slick drills by the players though.... For a video game
Is Arma 3 mainly a co-op (versus AI) based simulator, cause that would be great ? I mean, can you easily find servers like this one ? Cause each time I wanted to check Arma 3 players on Twitch they would ALWAYS be playing some kind of stupid mod that as nothing to do with the original game...
can you suppress enemy ai? afaik there is no suppress feature ai addon come up, if you know one it'll be great to share which addon used.
that was the most intense gameplay ive watched in a while, looks like loads of fun but maybe too much coop for me! ill stick to just watching the people who know how to actually play and succeed lol

I love these vids but for me I think they'd be better if hardcore mode. Wounds should be graded with effective limitations and medical casualty refuge and or dust off evac. Is it possible to record the second team lead and alt team pov to edit multi povs together. Also when a pov is taken out of action the pov could continue through the alt. So the mission could continue and maintaining the 'hardcore mode'.

Could a AMD fx-6350 and a gtx 960 run this?
I have an AMD FX-8320 and a GTX 960 4GB Edition and I can run this game on Ultra no problem. However we have different processors...but the GPU in your PC will be able to run this game.
john roberts Yes it can. I have a AMD fx 6300 and a GTX 750 1 gb and it runs it on HIGH. so yeah ur good just make sure u have at least 4gb of ram and 250gb HDD
john roberts Bruah if you got the right launch parameters and lower the texture quality of the game, a 2.6 GHz CPU, 8GB ram, and a GTX 650 will be able to run this game. Thats my main specs. Although im upgrading my CPU to a 3.1 or 3.2 soon.
