I actually like watching Rudy open cards more than I thought I would. Tells it like it is, lots of knowledge on the value of things, not just, "This is neat! Yay!"
アマークリストフ I doubt it. As goofy as Rudy can be, and the fact that these boxes were paid for by someone who directly supports him, I doubt he'd, "bite the hand that feeds him." Plus, he just got his channel back from some asshole scammer, doubt he'd test the waters with unsavory behavior this soon after something like that. I truly believe Rudy is a good guy.
It just depends on what your goals are. If you open such boxes for the financial benefit, it's totally okay to do it like Rudy. But if you are just interessted in the cards for playing and maybe a bit about the opening itself, then it's completely fine to be happy about "neat" cards, without really having to value the cards by actual money.
except that a lot f the values he listed in the video are actually a few dollars off, and the cards are worth more in value. He didn't even stop to notice the 2 dollar vines of vastwood or that the mutagenic growth is also 2 dollars right now. just some examples that kind of get me. Nothing major. Otherwise, I'm fine with what he does.
One of my local game stores was giving a free pack to someone who pulls a comet storm in their pack. lol

I started at beta and ended up quitting at ice age because of my assumptions that too many expansions were made with too many reprints. Never in my mind did I begin to believe that my unusable in play alpha's nor any other of the cards could be so valuable...

Really enjoyed watching you open the boxes, you have a lot of insight into the card values. I myself was wondering if you could add a little counter in the video to keep track of costs and what sort value you might expect to see from getting valuable cards (maybe $2 uncommons - mythics?).
I feel the pain with the foil Comet Storm. I bought two packs of Eternal Masters on a whim while picking up some singles for the deck I'm building at my LGS a couple weeks ago and I pulled a foil Worldgorger Dragon. A foil Eternal Masters mythic and it was worth less than $10 bucks. The other pack had a $33 Wasteland, a rare worth almost quadruple what the foil mythic was. Not only that, one of the employees at the shop pulled a foil Force of Will, lucky bastard!

Brief of it is I left magic Mid96, and returned just before Kaladesh,whats your thoughts on MM coming out next year? I passed on EMasters, Im thinking of getting two boxes of the upcoming MM mainly to flesh out collection for ability to make some modern decks, or should I just buy/trade specifically to make some modern decks.
PS. When I got back into magic I was frankly like jaw >> ground at what is vintage now and remembering the prices of most then vs now, and kicked myself repeatly for selling my collection as I know how much it would be worth

I would love to see a rough value posted on the channel. I'm not sure how you strategically do this without having people read the comments and leave, but still, it's what I always think after an unboxing video, what's the actual value opening a box like this (depending on your ability to move cards of course).
