Guys, you core Gen-Z'ers don't understand one thing. No matter how pissed you are at the employers, no matter how much you rebel against it, no matter how much you hate work. You either gonna end jobless for the rest of your life spiraling into depression and early death and probably drugs to make up for your miserable life, or you will be the bitch of your employer but still somehow earn money, live your life, able to buy what you want, and maybe have fun now and then. Choose one... complaining will bring you nowhere, i hate work too, i hate employers too, but sometimes its better to be a bitch to someone and still make something out of your life. If too many people think like you guys this gonna end like this : They will employ foreign people who are not as bratty as American/European middle class people, and earn even less than you would. They will work better than you, they will have more fun, and they will be thankful to the employer, meanwhile you thought you could gain anything with your rebel phase, but in reality you made the problem worse and completely ruined the situation for your generation, till the point where they don't even want you guys because those foreigners they recruited from other countries do the job flawless and don't complain, so theres no need to get the old rebelious people for their company who rebelled the last 15 years or so and suddenly changed their behavior because everyones jobless, got older and learns how important it is to have a job or just got wiser or the movement dissapeared.

Scrolling Tiktok, playing games, posting memes is the borderline easiest thing you can do with a PC/Smartphone. And i guess theres so many people who WANT TO TRY certain skills but they give up after watching 30 youtube videos on how to do something, just for them to try it themselves for the first time and give up after 1 hour because its harder than they thought, so back to scrolling and tiktok because it gives them the same pleasure as if they learned that skill + they relieved their stress and can focus again on things that does not demand their brain.

Generation Z is not less motivated to go to work, but has different priorities.
Instead of seeing the meaning of life in going to work and earning money, young people place more value on leisure and activities outside of work.
It is not the salary that motivates Gen Z, but rather the enjoyment of the job, self-fulfillment or the opportunity to organize one's working hours flexibly.
So, for example, a young person today would be more likely to take a job that suits her or his interests and that allows the person to start working later or stop working earlier.
In my opinion it's a good development to pay more attention to yourself and have the courage to make demands about your work instead of working all your life in a job that you don't enjoy, just to earn enough money to be able to afford the bare necessities.
For this reason, I believe that the older generation can even learn from Gen Z at this point.

Older people have been griping about younger people since time immemorial. Generations following their own are described as too cautious, too dangerous, too worried, too self absorbed, and yes, too lazy. From the 4th Century, Aristotle noted the young, “think they know everything and are quite certain about it”, that youth, “are high minded because they have not been humbled by life, nor have they experienced the force of circumstances”, to a French magazine in 1771, “a race of effeminate, self admiring, emaciated Fribbles”, to an author in 1925 describing young people as, “grossly thoughtless, rude and utterly selfish”, to a 1951 description of “pampered youth”, to Boomers who are, “whiny and too politically passive”on down to Millennials and generation X er’s who are reportedly, “phone addicted, self obsessed, hash tagging, snap chatting, kale munching, twerking, lazy, whining, ill informed, politically correct, cosseted narcissists, who find absolutely everything mortally offensive and believe there is 165 ways to sexually identify”. In other words, all generations are a product of their environment and circumstances of the world that shaped them. Yet somehow, we manage to survive.

Thats true that every generation complained about the younger generation. The problem is if its CONSTANTLY gets worse, theres the point where it got so bad that a certain generation is so much worse than the previous that everything went so downhill that society does not function properly let alone your workers. When you constantly complain that food gets worse and is unhealthy, year after year it gets worse until its so bad that it does not have any taste at all and is so unhealthy that you can't eat it anymore. Thats what happening with the current generation, it got so bad that havin a normal running company is not possible anymore because the younger people you need in your company now got so spoiled that your company won't function properly. Theres no upwards trend but constant downward trend, and if it goes till the absolute zero, that means the previous generation was already really bad, but the next one is tenfold worse to the point where its a disaster. So constant bitching about how everything got worse is no indicator that we come to a stop now, but eventually one day we will, and if we are in the couple last phases this just shows.

As long as you’re in a comfortable position with good pay. You are good. Most company managers or ceos don’t like the idea because they’re putting the bare minimum or slightly above up.

It’s a lot harder to succeed nowadays.
This generation doesn’t want to work a shitty job that doesn’t pay well, and overworks you for a wage that is so pitiful you would need 4-5 jobs at once in order to afford just paying rent comfortably the whole year. Where in yesteryear you could get by with a minimum wage job.
Buying a House is the hardest it’s ever been, mortgages are outrages, this generation can’t even afford a shitty used car comfortably, assets aren’t as attainable as they used to be.
Where years ago an associates or a bachelors was valuable, now not so much. it’s all about a masters degree or a PHD on top of hours of experience you get no pay for.
In the 80’s you could get by with less work and much less requirements for things. And nearly EVERY job had way less competition compared to today where EVERYTHING is available to anyone at the tap of a screen.
Assets were realistically attainable back then, not easy to get, but attainable. Now they simply ARENT.

    • @coldeed
      @coldeed Před 4 měsíci

@@IamAWESOME3980 So I don't know if maths not your strong suit but 6 figures isn't exactly impressive and out of context your situation isn't even remotely interesting or impressive.
It's not the 90s, having 100k on some books and making roughly 100k isn't impressive, especially with what you're saying and pretty clearly leaving out significant context. The money has depreciated value, you're not even reasonably close to "middleclass" if we don't pretend it's a contest of a meaningless percentile and talk about how pathetic the spending power currently is.
And it's also off topic. I'm sure your mom and dad helped you get your shit together to be in such a position without any significant risk or debt and you pat yourself on the back for not having a kid like it's complex you use a rubber. It's a bit obvious, if you're not totally making this up you're leaving out the context of what conditions you had at 18 to pretty much avoid all debts, throw in strong investments, afford education and cost of living, because when I'm describing is that on the typical American wage you wouldn't be able to do that until your mid-thirties because it would literally not be reasonable for you to afford such things and would force you into debt. I wouldn't be shocked if you'd start advising people to ask their mom and dad to find them a 60k starting salary/loan as a teenager, or you would advise them to do something such as live off their parents which may not even be reasonable/possible. It just sounds like you're telling some fantasy flex about having an easy life that's grossly hyperbolic at best, because frankly even if you are not exaggerating the conditions of your life, I can probably say that it is next to impossible that you find yourself in your current position from entirely independent efforts with 0 risk and expense.
Either way, it's not much a valuable or intelligent take. I could say the same thing being 26, but your pretty clearly older making shit up with how falsely your estimating the world.
Running water is literally ancient technology at this point is harder to find absent than not. Electricity is present on 90% of the globe, internet is available for over half already which indicates your looking at 2/3s the world having rather acceptable power infrastructure.
You're legitimately talking about coming from the third world but somehow coming to America and not incurring any debts in order to afford education, living, savings etc all the same time, with supposedly wages that are far greater than average etc.
It just kind of makes me question what context are you even speaking in? Were your parents just wealthy foreigners and you're pretending like you came from some bum fuck shit hole that's far more devolved than most of the planet? Was your mother or father that brought you to this country one of the total idiots that uncured debt in order to essentially elevate their status, in a former time when it wasn't as negative economically as it is today which is what we are discussing? Where does your fortunate position actually in your mind somehow invalidate the standards or depreciating at such an exaggerated rate? Because it doesn't sound like it does and it sounds like you are utterly incompetent to understand how you've lived the life you've lived, or utterly unaware and totally stupid to the way that your family provided this for you.
Because we can talk about how if this is the situation that you've been handed, and the opportunities that your family provided to you then you may have a very good family. That doesn't mean anything about the current state of economics in the country so maybe you should just not speak about that if you're not smart enough to understand the difference.
Because I don't desire to insult you as person here, but frankly you're not speaking from a sensible position in the slightest. The issue here is that the actual degree of expendable income has done nothing but gone down in the negative for decades at this point in this country. It's not some moronic contest of "there's someplace", it is literally an issue that currently the standards that are continuing to trend things downward are simply making everyone in this country less wealthy, and the spending power of our money is doing the exact opposite of growing. Looking at the average indicates that it is incredibly common the majority of people that are not dependent on others for basic necessities would find themselves at significant negative deficit more often than not for even acquiring the bare essentials.
And I'll explain this with mathematic things cuz I do not want you to take this at all personally I do not think it is a bad thing that if you've worked well with your family and it has been prosperous for all of you that that is something I at all oppose.
You're describing that in these very bad poor places people have an expendable income of roughly $5 dollars.
I'm explaining that Americans that do not have any family/friends etc they can rely on and would have to live independently at 18 years of age would typically be seeing a -15,000 dollar margin before they would even hit what would be considered expendable income and currently using the estimates for expenses of necessities and average wages by age, anyone that is not at a minimum 26 is in that current position. And by your own admission that would make them more impoverished than those people in the third world state of living that you're describing wealthier and in a better situation to provide for themselves. It would take 15 years for them to get out of a negative deficit on the average income. This means that if you're looking at the younger population they literally have less than zero expendable income. It is looking like it will trend worse as things are going. That is the current state of this country.
If you even attempted to do literally none of the things that you were afforded to do apparently without accumulating debt here as an 18 year old alone, you would literally need to be homeless for the first half a decade of your adult life to potentially afford renting alone. The current economic state for our use is comparable to the bad working conditions of the 1880s, where it would be common for a 70 hour work week in order to afford basic essentials. That's not exactly a standard I would call acceptable.
Because you could say really ignorant things like "people just need to get a full ride in school" Will you fail to understand basic mathematical concepts I'm presenting to you, can't understand the statistical comparison or historical parallels to rather unfortunate times. Even with education being 100% free it still isn't economically prosperous. Being able to rely on and work well within your own family is. And this isn't something people should insult or mock people over, people having strong families in which they all agree to move in sensible directions is the most positive thing people can do for their own wealth.
But this isn't even a discussion on what people can do for their own wealth. Specifically what spawned us talking about this at all is what is the youngest generation is up to, my suggestion is the economic state that the youngest people in this country is ridiculously bad. When what day can be expected entering the workforce is needing a 50% increase in pay to simply be able to provide for themselves currently, it's clear that the economy we have now isn't indicative of the same type of prosperity roughly 50 years ago where was actually somewhat reasonable to consider someone simply getting a job earning some money and very quickly and simply appreciating their own wealth. Now it is little more than a debt funnel.

yes and your generation Is just hard working all the time Nonstop 😂 Are you smoking crack? Every generation Has tons of lazy people I mean hell Some of that older generation Made the younger generation that way It just depends How they were raised. I'm 23 & I already have my own house + one kid but I can barely afford my bills I can barely save any money Also doesn't help that your Country is almost on a economic collapse & Fighting Stupid proxy wars Spending hundreds and billions on Wars that shouldn't even be happening. It's kind of hard for my generation to save money right now No wonder why some people choose to be high then work. I didn't go to college by the way Can't really do that when I have bills to pay and put food on the table for my son. There's way too many people in these comments Hating on people they don't even know because there was a few bad apples don't mean the whole tree is bad Same goes to any other generation. I know people at my work place that are fifteen years older than me with way more experience & they don't bother training younger people the proper way Whatsoever Lots of them sit on their ass & get Paid 50 An hour It's not just my generation. I can bust my ass all day and not even make half of what those guys do sitting on their ass I mean what do you want us to do? We're just trying to live the best we can in this F UP world.

So interesting thought, but I honestly feel like the time period where we had the milk carton programs and stuff like that really shaped how Americans raise their kids. Our children get coddled and sheltered, given no chance to be independent. If you see a 10 year old wandering the neighborhood to head to the park the police get called. Our kids are given no independence, vs some European countries where they don’t walk their kids up to the kindergarten door, where they let their kids wander the block. It harms kids in the worst way possible, to where they’re not independent and can’t make it as a functioning adult for a long while. Not to mention they’re stuffed into an economy where they can’t make it alone.

Learn to tell the truth maybe ? The title should be “Gen Z is the hardest generation to take advantage of”

No, it’s gen Z has the luxury of not paying for living expenses bc they live with their parents so they don’t have to trade their time for money as many people do. The truth is you have to start somewhere and being entitled, being difficult and complaining doesn’t make you money. Instead of framing work as a way to be taken advantage of it’s better to find work that interests you

If you come to work and barely do anything yet still get paid you are the one taking advantage, not the one being taken advantage of.
