You don't have to like Putin to realise that Farage is right. You just have to be fair minded. If Mexico wanted Russian military bases in their country, the USA would go ballistic almost literally.

Eventually usually once its too late the ugly Truth shows itself but the Truth can be hidden and Nigel observation regarding Putin proves this fact with most believing Putin is Hitler reincarnate and Russia want to take Europe! When anyone who's witnessed the last 50+ years of USA globalism including sticking its hand up the backside of Europe will be aware its not Russia we need to fear. If anyone doesn't believe me why does much of the MSM for example the Sun news paper run at a loss? Because its lies and at best part truths empower its owners political narrative thus we end up with a Red / Blue duopoly.

If Russia had something better to offer than the EU don't you think people would voluntarily join? BRICS for example? CSTO? Why is it that no one is leaving the EU in droves and NATO since you clearly believe the grass is greener on the other side?
Finland has had no desire to join NATO until Putler decided to Invade Ukraine after they rid their country of the pro Kremlin puppets on their own volition. They gave their nuclear weapons up when the CCCP broke up on good faith that the west would aid them and that Russia would leave them alone, even after Russians tried to starve their entire country out of existence in the holodmor. Instead they chose to invade for evolving reasons (about 10 or so now) But yet again you seem to think the grass is greener on the other side.
Russia's CSTO alliance is so great that they are endorsing other members to invade the same members. Armenia wants to leave CSTO because of this. Russia cannot offer anything better so they simply resort to force. As seen in Georgia and Chechnya and various other countries.
I'm afraid that anyone that genuinely believes what Russia offers over EU or NATO is better is in denial.

Actually it was way back in 2008 that the US forced NATO to say that both Georgia and Ukraine would eventually be members.

Ukraine applied for NATO membership in 2008. Stop with your BS.😂😂😂Crimea Parliament declared independence from Ukraine sovereignty. The people voted 90% to leave Ukraine. Annexation of Crimea was the next logical thing.

This is insanity. Ukraine is a sovereign country that has every right to choose what alliance it wants. Why are so many here against freedom and championing authoritarianism and tyranny???

@SJC11116 Not sure your question is a wholesome question. There was always limited moral high ground in the fighting in Ukraine, not least the Kyiv regime littered with neo-Nazi attacking Russian speaking citizens and language across the Donbass region. A then burgeoning genocide, just in case you missed it!

yes Ukraine is sovereign country, but Ukraine has a significant role in that region, their country is in the middle of two different ideologies , authoritarian and capitalism ,
siding or switching sides is just like you commit suicide.
it's better to use them both russia and west for your country advantages ,
