Nominated for 5 Oscars including Best Picture but won for Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor Christoph Waltz.
Christoph Waltz has two oscars, both from tarantino's movies. He works the style INCREDIBLY well.
I see you know how to use Google.
@@michalkral2553 His ability to play a villainous character in Inglorious Basterds with the same brilliance as this movie is remarkable.
@@michalkral2553while I love the doc in this movie, Hans Landa would sweep the floor with him
Christoph Waltz is both German and Austrian in real life but is playing a German character. And thank you for reacting to this it's arguably my favorite movie of all time.
I like that you understood Jackson's character. Stephen is a great actor and very clever. He's the true brains behind Candyland.
The headgear that the slaves wore, were mainly used during when they were being sold, because it prevented them from biting slave owners, their families, and the handlers during the selling process.
During filming, Leonardo Di Caprio had such a hard time getting into character, and being that cruel, that he couldn’t do the scenes until he talked to Samuel L. Jackson and Jamie Foxx. They’ve said that they discussed that is was okay, that it was just part of his character, and basically gave Leo permission to treat them like he did in the movie.
Christoph Waltz and Leo were phenomenally good in this movie, acting at a whole different level
Enjoy your reactions! Quentin is the best when it comes to dialogue. It's what makes his movies some of the best, and Samuel has been in almost every one.
The horse Jamie Foxx rode the whole movie was actually his horse....he showed Christoph Waltz how to ride
Everybody did a great job. Franco Nero made a cameo in the film. Franco was in the original 1966 film Django and tons of westerns after. Nice reaction! Have a great week.
23:37 I think it was a mistake for Dr. Schultz to bring Django along with him to Candieland. The _actual_ purpose of the visit was to liberate _Broomhilda,_ his _wife._ The plan ended up being _exposed_ because she _recognized_ her husband and Stephen picked _up_ on that. I think Dr. Schultz could've liberated Broomhilda _much_ more effectively if he and Django had just agreed to have Django _wait_ somewhere until they came _out,_ together.
Leo put on the performance of a lifetime, spectacular every time. Samuel L Jackson nailed the sell out Stephen character with his nosy meddling. Fortunately "mandingo fighting" wasn't a historical practice and probably didn't occur in the way Tarentino portrayed. Great film, so moving with everyone playing their parts to perfection.
Fun fact: Will Smith originally accepted the role of Django, but left the project because he disagreed with Tarantino about how the movie should be
Unfortunately fighting between slaves for their masters' benefit is a historical fact.
Leonardo DiCaprio & Samuel Jackson give an amazing performance. Such great actors.
Sam Jackson is in every movie ever made
Hey Emma a little known fact Leonardo DiCaprio really did cut his hand and was really bleeding in that scene,,,,,,,,,Leonardo DiCaprio badly cut his hand. while filming a pivotal scene in django Unchained. toward the end of the movie, during the dinner scene, DiCaprio unintentionally. breaks a glass cup after slamming his hand on a table, causing it to immediately start bleeding 😯😯
One of the best movies ever.. Great acting by everybody involved, This was a great reaction ... I hope that it didn't give you nightmares.
😉😁 I’m good!)
Slavery was terrible , some of this was difficult to watch. Great acting. Great movie. Love your reactions. ❤❤
Did you see the Harriet Tubman movie that came out a few years ago
I’ve always found it fascinating when actors act in movies like this. For example Leonardo decaprio playing the role of that guy is amazing. It’s one thing to ply jack in titanic (which is also very well acted) but to play a slave owner and say the words he says and demeaning things he does is amazing acting.
24:26 The most disturbing part about this portion of the movie is that it is indeed based on true experiences during slavery..
How is it possible that Leonardo DiCaprio was not nominated for an Óscar for this role?🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
When Leo cut his hand during the scene where they got found out, he actually cut his hand when he slammed it on the table, that wasn’t planned. So the reaction from the actress is quite genuine.
Fun fact: Will Smith originally accepted the role of Django, but left the project because he disagreed with Tarantino about how the movie should be. Will didn’t want it to be a vengeance story
@@nsasupporter7557 Coward. Well it's for the best. Jamie nailed Django, I could never imagine Will being Django now.
Now you should watch 12 Years a Slave .... it's based on a true story. Really amazing film.
Emma the actor who said i know Django said the d is silent played Django in the 60's version of the movie 2:44
Such a perfect build up to when Django comes into the room saying "hey little trouble maker ;-)"
He points out the north star so the slaves can head north away from southern slavery , great script with a fine cast , Christoph Waltz is outstanding.
Leo did cut his hand but he's such a committed actor he just pushed through it.Such an impressive performance 😊
ty for ur empathy and intelligence, now ur channel is one of my favorite
Great reaction Emma, and when it comes to comedy, you don't have to be anything but your self, looking wonderful. 😊❤
😊 thank you
"Could you please stop playing Beethoven"? such a powerful line considering the place and the moment. Brilliant Waltz
1966’s Django is Outstanding! They have original language or a dubbed version staring Franco Nero. The song Django is from this version 🎉 (RT: 93%)
And the guy at the bar that said "I know" about the D being silent WAS Franco Nero, the original Django.
at around 26:00 if anyone is wondering
Thanks!
24:21 - "are they playing?" .. oh dear
at 24:47 ... the were some female slave who were called "Fancy girls" they were beautiful and were basically sex slaves.
Kerry Washington is so beautiful . Once you start watching more Tarantino you'll quickly notice there's some staple actors he keeps going to for his movies.
Thanks Emma 🎉

32:30 the moment Stephen (the turncoat) played by Samuel L Jackson sees another black man on a horse, look at the hate and disgust on his face for another black man he doesn't know from Adam.
As I said, the psychology of being on the plantation, a black man with a little privilege seeing another black man with even more privilege💥
Stephen loved Calvin more than anybody else who looked like him on that plantation.
Stockholm syndrome is a real thing.
Tarantino recommendation: Jackie Brown. Often overlooked, but it's my favorite movie of his. Fantastic acting all around!
One of the most memorable movies I’ve ever seen
27:42 Emma, I need to interject, you are not looking at this film from the correct understanding regarding this woman "looking fancy".
the psychology of slavery and the context behind the positions that black people took is what you need to take from this film, and Tarantino summed it perfectly.
This woman is (what we black people call) The Bedwench figure. A slave master if he desires, chooses the prettiest slave from his stable and ELEVATES her above the rest to the position of the woman he sleeps with, wines dines and dresses up fancy. This is one element of what produced the mulatto child (mixed raced) child on the ranch, in slavery times. She isn't scared at all because she thinks she's more important than the rest, she believes she is exclusive, a one off! and will also treat the slaves as beneath her.
So you were either in the field doing hard labour or you were brought into the house where you had some extra privileges but it mentally twisted your mind against your own people.
Stephen, the turncoat
you had black Manmy character's (females who cooked and served Calvin)
and then the Bedwench.
plantation owners also indulged in betting with other plantation owners one who had the strongest buck (black man) so they created what's known as 'buck fighting' a which was to the death.
“ it’s me, baby”
SHIVERS DOWN MY SPINE!!!!
Great Movie, Great Cast, Great Performances By Everyone In This Movie 👍 & Great Reaction To This Great Movie
So are the bags on or off?
Waltz has won 2 Oscars and English is not his first language 😎😎 #Baller
How Di Caprio didn't win an Oscar for this I don't know. That dinner scene alone was a masterclass in acting by him 👏🏽 👌🏽 🙌🏽
This movie does a great job at showing how the South viewed slaves and, as a result, how they mistreated them. Calvin Candy sums it up nicely:”She’s my property, and I can do with my property whatever I so desire!”
Love your reactions Emma ❤😊 Another movie I recommend for you that you would love Is “The Illusionist” 2006 drama mystery starring Edward Norton
The acoustic guitar and flute music at the beginning that you commented on is from a Western in the 70s. Two Mules for Sister Sara with Clint Eastwood. It's the theme throughout.
I would recommend this Eastwood movie as "the one to watch" if you have never seen an American hero western and were wondering.
Great video! Your reactions and commentary were very enjoyable
And the Best Car Salesman of the year goes to, Calvin Candy !!!
One of the best movies ever made.
Awesome 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 I love this movie. I've watched it in the movie theater here in Brazil.
Fyi the Marshal on the first town is the same actor who played Bo Duke in Dukes of Hazzard
You know what's funny that there are still 75 million slaves in the world.
Beautiful reaction, Wonderful Emma. Grazie Mille
Wat a coincidence Emma... Yesterday i was watching the same movie... But 2nd time... I saw movie 6-7 years back...
Anyway... Waiting for... Sardar udham.... Movie
Tarantino's genius as a director and script-writer demands that his actors bring their A-game when they work for him. MIx these together and you have an instant classic - in fact nine of them. Unfortunately for us, he has said there will be only one more.
For a different type of comedy, try Young Frankenstein and Hot Fizz.
I loved this movie when I seen it in theaters. As usual Quentin's satire and over the top action delivered. It was good to see a slave movie that had a strong black character being dominant.
To think that slavery is gone is the funniest thing there is.
6:20 the voice of an angel.
now you have to watch “The Hateful Eight” .. another Western by QT
Sounds great!!)
i love watching movie with Emma
"I really love " drinking game
Masterpiece ever. Great
One of my favourite Tarantino movies.
Great reaction! Thank you!
😉
Muy buena pelicula excelente gracias por compartir.😊
Emma did you recognise Quentin Tarantino was the Australian that was blown up.. So many greats to mention Pulp Fiction Reservoir Dogs etc etc. Dusk till Dawn I think was my first QT film. Check it out bit bloody dark and daft but good, plus QT in it as well. Plus Salma Hayek.x anyway Great reaction and Cheer's Beautiful.x. 🇬🇧
I spent the whole video trying to figure out what football kit Emma is wear…😅
One of my favorite Midwestern style movies. Thanks for this. By the way, are you american?
No, I am not American)))
@@EmmaReactions Are you british?
This is one of my favorite Quentin Tarintino movies
This girl is 🔥
I love you Emma ❤
Jackie Brown is Tarantino's greatest film. Inglourious Basterds is his greatest script. Django Unchained is his most entertaining BY FAR.
IB fits all three categories for me
@@StephenLWilson y'know, I can get behind that!
