Fire Test EDP / IT, Smouldering Cable

Because of the great number of electrical components inside a data centre the risk for an outbreak of a fire is especially high. The video shows the fire behaviour of a cable under normal environmental conditions (20.9 vol% oxygen) compared to a protective atmosphere with a reduced oxygen concentration done by the active fire prevention system OxyReduct®. The reduction of the oxygen level to 14.7 vol% also reduces the fire behaviour distinctively so a fire can neither break out nor sustain itself.
