  • Restoration of an old rusted Hammer, in this video I restore old rusty Hammer, and make a beautiful Walnut handle with Brass insert. This Hammer was found in ancient abandoned well.
This little hammer was sticking out of the pile in extracted clay. It is not known exactly how long this tool was under water, but it is at least up to 100 years. It was extremely rusty, rust stuck to it in a thick layer, the handle was present but rotten and cracked, as you see it has offset center, this little hammer must shine like a mirror, so I decided to do this perfect restoration.
Processing: First I sawed off the old handle and took it out of the seat, then decide to remove rust off tool by using acid cleaning, it was concentrated hydrochloric acid, at first thought how to do best way so as not to remove the extra metal chassis. The acid cleaned the rust from the object and did not damage the steel, as in the case of use Sandblasting. Then Hammer Head was grinded and Hand Sanded. After that it was polished to a mirror finish by using woolen grinding wheel and polishing paste. The handle made out of walnut, this wood has beautiful texture, it is a nice choice for Woodworking also. I really like Copper, but did not have such a plate and decided to make this Insert of Brass. Turned out a kind of small hammer with a brass insert.
It was a nice interesting project with a little bit of history. I hope you like it, Please comment like and Subscribe to see my other interesting videos.
Thanks to all who like my work and videos.
