Ikr!
I really liked this episode. Interesting to learn about the man behind the suit.
I've been watching your videos for the best part of a year and never commented. But after watching this video I just wanted to share my voice; I love your videos man, keep it up :)
thank you James
Same here, big fan of what you're doing. You should start a Patreon...
I just found your channel and I love it. That 50's aesthetic works very well for talking about Vinyl. (It also makes it funny when you talk about stuff like Death Grips)
I know right? I love the juxtaposition
Thanks for giving us more insight, about who you are and what got you into vinyl, etc.
Great video, made me look back at my music journey, my first memory is my dad play the doors on his record player , by the time I was 5 I had my own Walkman listening to Elvis doors ,Beatles, ccr , and from there I never stopped looking for new music, to this day I’m still find new music from late sixths early 70s, it’s endless . Check out John Mayall - empty rooms , (ten years after) (Dust) (damnation of Adam blessing) (Bang)(hawkwind)(frijid Pink)(flamin groovies)(Demian)(Bedlam)(glass family)thanks for all the great videos I always look forward to them
Y'know I had the same thing happen to me where I almost kinda dropped out and lost interest in vinyl since I really didn't ever have much money as a teenager, however someone recently bought me a new turn table for my birth day and that really re ignited my addiction to vinyl and making upgrades to the turn table. I forgot how much I loved this hobby and I'm glad to see that vinyl rewind is still around I watched you since my collecting journey started 7 years ago and now here I am scrubbing through all your videos. I still remember the day my parents broke out a crappy all in one turn table they bought for christmas to play their old records, and even just the mechanism, the way a turn table worked absolutely blew my mind when I was 8. I had only known of cassette tapes, cds, and the early years of mp3 players.
You've always reminded me of a 50's dude, haha! Keep up the amazing content. Best vinyl/music channel on CZcams!
So cool. Actual footage of your first music hit.
BTW, Tempest "Living in Fear" Check it out. Also Patto.
This channel’s lovely, you’re lovely :)
Loving your videos. I'm in my early 40's and just bought my first record player as an adult, so I've been picking up some of my favorite albums to jumpstart my collection. I'll definitely be keeping up with watching your videos. Thanks for what you do!
Absolutely love your channel. It's very refreshing to see somebody into vinyl on YT that isn't all in your face and obnoxious. Keep it up.
I love the stories a vinyl collection tells. The memories of the music. The memories of the record. How/where u found your copy of the album. I love it. Every album is a story. In many cases, every album is many stories. Collecting and listening to vinyl is the perfect hobby for me. Sucks it took me so long to discover.
One of the biggest mysteries is how this channel doesn't have over 100k subscribers, great video again man! Happy to support you in your journey!
I find it funny that I’m watching this video about your vinyl journey and I just started watching your videos! I started collecting vinyl two years ago, and I’m very happy with my collection. I adore the Blue Album by Weezer, and it’s helped me through many times. The Beatles have done this for me as well!
Also, if I could recommend a group it would be Steely Dan!
Steely Dan is great. I grew up with Aja
You're so God damn charming lol

Awesome video, man! It was great to see how you came to appreciate music in your childhood. Many similarities to mine... so great to see your love for Weird Al! I totally relate
Thanks for telling your story man, cool stuff 👍
I love the huge range of influences. I was right there too, sandwiched between my Motown siblings, classical father, easy listening mom and rock and pop loving friends. Glorious time for music :) love your channel!!
What I like so much about your channel is how sincere and joyous you are every time you feature a an album you like. Your channel is awesome and you are awesome keep up the good work again you are awesome!
Great story! That’s what’s amazing about music. Everyone has their own unique journey.
Love your channel man, I'm a big music fan and collector myself and I think we're from the same era....every time you put a review you're so on point with your comments and that really show your passion for music. And I can't be more empathic with that feeling. Thanks for your passion man, I always enjoy having your point of view from those timeless classics!
Why doesn't this channel have more subscribers!? It blows my mind. This channel deserves way more attention.
This channel is like a hidden gem to me and I really love and appreciate this stuff you're putting out. In the pile of shit that is CZcams this is a golden nugget.
Huge fan of the channel. Really like your personal stories with all the music. I have always not been a fan of hip hop music but after some friends and your top 2019 records video I have started listening to some. I listened to Malibu Ken, Igor, and circles. Really has shown me a new appreciation for the genre of music. Thanks for the nudge!
Great video, Eric. Glad you kept and keep it up! All best from the E.U. -- Van.
cheers brother its a pleasure watching these vids. its cool to have a friend that doesn't know you if you know what I mean
Thanks for the very entertaining bio. I have to say that as a record fan since the mid 1950's I left the vinyl music scene around 1993 or so. After seeing your enthusiasm for this format through your videos I have gotten back into collecting those albums I had tossed away in the 70's. BTW I lived in Santa Cruz for seven years in the 70's. Due to the lack of opportunity there I had to move to Seattle. I still love that Beach Town however. I heard Logo's is closing down. Bummer
Yeah, I was able to shop there one more time and I captured some footage before it closed. I'm planning to do a little tribute to it. Glad you got back into it.
Thanks for opining up it was great to know I’m not alone. Keep up the good work.
Hey Geek....thanks for sharing your vinyl journeys with us. Huge fan of yours and its people like yourself that reignited my love and hunger for collecting vinyl once again. Oh look...I found my copy of Santana's Abraxas :)
Great album
I just recently discovered your videos, and as a collector and audiophile, they are really entertaining to watch and see your perspective of some of my favorite albums. Keep up all the good work.
thank you
Thank you for this very personal episode! Now we even got the chance to get to know you better. I'm growing to be a huge fan of your show! Always very funny and interesting reviews - with your channel there is so much music to explore! Keep it up, Vinyl Geek! ;)
P.S.: Did you ever heard of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly?
I love Enoch Light's music too. I enjoy Vinyl Rewind a lot. You have a nice way of presenting your music and your close connection to it.
This video was just beautiful geek, I still remember 2014 when you gave me shout out on the channel, I was at school and nothing could have made that day better, as always keep it up, gr8 moves and much love
Thank you! Man, 2014 was 3 years ago, time flies! Thanks for watching
You're doing a great job!!!!
Great video, Eric... and Weird Al was definitely an influence on me and my love of multiple genres. Comedy records started me collecting - from their got me into digging and looking at records in stores for hours. I think most serious collectors have a story of getting rid of a chunk of their collection (and the regret).
I'm beginning to understand that's a common story, almost a rite of passage
I loved hearing your vinyl odyssey. I started collecting in HS as well- class of 98! and then went many, many years (a decade plus) of not, and now I'm getting back into it.
Oh wow, you are two years ahead of me. Welcome back
Nice video dude! We all have a story to tell about collecting and I enjoyed yours immensely. I felt bad when you mentioned that you got rid of a lot of your records but when the internet hit or when moving lots of people did the same thing. It seems like the older we are the more we appreciate the past, not just for nostalgia sake but in general. I was fortunate to have an older brother who passed down many of his records and told me never to get rid of them because some may be irreplaceable. I followed his advice and was grateful because he was right! There's always new music to explore and despite having immense collections I always wonder what the heck have I missed and will never get to hear in the future when I'm gone. You have a great channel and keep up the great work. Thanks again. My recommendation to explore is Be Bop Deluxe, that is if you don't already know! Cheers
Don't feel too bad, I didn't get rid of anything amazing. A lot of it was 80s stuff and random silly coverart records. Those were some wise words from your Brother, I'm glad you heeded them. I will check out Be-Bop Deluxe, thanks
Really love this channel the style of the room is so 50s early 60s and the outfit is so 1950s. I love the style it really suits talking about music and is just cool.
Keep up the fantastic work, man! I know you've got me into a lot of good music. I had to sell all my records recently to pay for some car repair, but I'm hoping to start again soon with a fresh collection. Definitely gonna pick up a bunch of stuff you recommended in your videos!
I'm sorry to hear but glad to hear you'll be starting again. Collect what you love
Well bro, I'm happy your here; love your content. :)
Yo listen to Manchester Orchestra
Came across your channel looking at start up tables. Awesome stuff mate!
Great video with some very personal history. Helps the viewers bond with you. Keep going!
Love your channel. Your high school photo made me smile. Not because you look weird or anything. But because I am on a different continent, thousands of miles away and probably a generation apart. However, the background in your high school photo is exactly the same as my high school photos. That cloudy, vague blue background is apparently universal. Anyway, thanks for the content. Great stuff!
It's clear that this show is a lot of hard work as you say. Look at that setup! Also not sure if that's just how you dress/groom, but the whole elaborate, sophisticated aesthetic of the show makes it feel like something you'd watch on TV. Really well put together
I came across the channel because of the wall videos and I was hooked
Your best video to date, thank you for sharing. You are one of the reasons I went an retrieved my records from storage and started to keep better care of them. I can't thank you enough.
I hope that you continue till the cows come home singing the blues! or forever .....which ever comes first! God bless you!
Oh wow, that's awesome!
I love your story of music discovery and collecting. Very ernest and sincere. I lived in SC from 1994-2003 and know Logos well. I have a recommendation for you that I think will blow your mind and since it's difficult to track down it will give you a Holy Grail type quest. See if you can find every Oxford American Music issue with the music sampler CDs. It took me a few years to find to find them all. But those CDs have exposed me to some amazing stuff that I would never have heard before. Best of luck collecting.
The location for the cover shot on that Specials album (top right on your set) is a mear 500 yards from me. The actual spot is underwater again, as at that time in 1979 Coventry Canal basin had been drained for maintenance, a nearby plaque commemorates it.
Hum!!! so awesome
Great stories! A lot of very similar and relatable:)
Awesome video
Hell of a story dude!
Thank you very much for your show ! It makes me feel happy. You do it very well, so proffessional, kind and with the right magic for a magic show, which gives good times sharing you with people, all your excellent coments, showing every detail of vinyls and music. The retro ambient of your living room is very good, every detail. I love it. Proffessor Watson is great, and your vintage drinks too. I am thanksful for your show. Congratulations !
Thank you
I thoroughly enjoy watching your show. You strike me as a real fan of music in general; you're not just throwing something together for some views. It was nice to hear how you got into collecting.
I started collecting records in 2005 and I've now got a couple hundred. I, too, have fond memories of my parents' record collection when I was young. My dad, in particular, got me into music through the Beatles and I've been playing drums and guitar for over 20 years.
Keep up the good work, and G'day from Australia.
Yeah, if it was about the views, I'd be doing something else all together. 05 was a good time to get into it, you could probably still get some high dollar original pressings for a decent price. Where do most of the pressings come from that you find in Australia?
Depends on the age of the pressing. If it's older than, say 1990, it's probably an Australian pressing, otherwise it's most likely pressed somewhere in the EU. Also depends on what you're looking for. For a band like Girlschool from the UK it's easier to import a UK pressing than to find an AUS pressing as they weren't that popular out here.
Dad had great taste Eric! Love Clapton Allmans and Traffic
Review your favorite ska and rockabilly albums! I miss seeing voodoo glow skulls at the showcase theatre in corona CA. Sadly the venue is closed but it was the best place to go on fridays as a kid. So many punk bands and hardcore bands and a lot of the California bands played and started there at that venue
Keep it up. Greetings from México
Thank you for your channel ! I think you look how TV should be. Spending good time to talk about music in a nice room, we have a good time with a friend, you, behind the screen
I've been listening to records for over 60 years! There is just something about it that I find magical about playing records! A list of my go to records from the past!
1. Johnny Rivers *** Rewind *** The whole album in excellent both side!
2. Hall & Oats *** Abandoned luncheonette *** Side one excellent, side two sucks!
3. Bonnie Raitt *** Streetlights *** Both side excellent mellow album
4. Joe Cocker *** With a little help from my friends *** Most all of it excellent!
5. Ten years after *** A space in time *** A great album to be stone to!
6. Bob Dylan *** Blood on the tracks *** Whole album excellent!
7. Boz Scaggs *** Silk Degrees *** Both side excellent! It was over played a lot.
8. Bruce Cockburn *** Stealing Fire *** A cool album for upbeat folk music.
9. Gordon Lightfoot *** Sundown *** Both side excellent. If you want something mellow.
10. Patti Smith *** Easter *** Both side excellent! I believe her best album, start to finish!
11. War *** Live *** 3 out of 4 sides excellent! A great summer, party album!
12. Van Morrison *** No guru, no method, no teacher *** Excellent album.
That hairdo would survive the apocalypse man! The Chris Isaac look well serves you well and your parents add great taste in music!
How is this guy not famous? He has been on youtube for so long.
That was absolutely brilliant Eric! It was fascinating to listen to your story mate and thank you for sharing it with us! Sort of took me back to when I started buying records back in the late 90s. (The 1st record I bought was Queen's 'A Night at the Opera' for £4 from my local record shop in 1998! Still got it too!) mind you before that I was playing my Hohner Rockwood Strat along to my mums old copies of Black Sabbath 'Paranoid' with the funny 'vertigo' vortex label and used to stare into that for ages on the chance it would hypnotise me! Also a bashed up copy of Led Zeppelin 2, I think I learned to play guitar to both those records! After that I really got into buying my own (they were so cheap back then!) I could go to a shop with £10 and come out with 20 records of the most amazing stuff from Bowie, to Pink Flord to Alice Cooper to Motörhead! 20 years later and I'm still getting new stuff every week! Takes up a load of space so like you I had to sell half of my collection purely so I could move! Still got about 1000 lps though so not too cramped and their on proper shelves now instead of the floor, Really great episode mate Thanks 😉
Man, that was the time to buy, I hope you keep those classics. I use to play my trumpet to Weezer and the like so I totally relate!
You are awesome..
It really pisses me off that this channel doesn't have more subscribers. It's a nice community, but it really deserves more recognition.
Thank you
Great video! Thanks for sharing, Bo Diddley has always been my favorite as far a rockabilly goes. Also, here are some random recommendations from me- Easter Everywhere (13th floor elevators), Da Capo (Love), East West (Paul Butterfield Blues Band), and Stand Up (Jethro Tull). Those are all old school recommends but maybe one or two of those will be new to you!
Great picks, thank you!
