I remember dancing to this at the Texas Ranch on Maple Ave. in Dallas in the early 1982. Such an incredible time. The dance floor would be packed and everyone would rip off their shirts and keep on dancing.
Amazing recollection. Zulu was an American dance number one for 2 weeks in October 1981. Everyone seems to have forgotten about, which is a shame. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_number-one_dance_singles_of_1981_(U.S.)
i have been trying to get hold of this for years ..thank you for posting..a friend of mine played the london clubs when this came out and he played this all the time and every seemed to like it the record was out cbs epic at the time and cbs sent out a lot o remixed 12 inch singles and i had this one at the end of the song ernie isley of the isley brothers plays out......
house music ...when it was called home ..... this is the 12 inch version ...but I prefer it off the record ... just me and my ears ... and short spanned brain cells !
In 1985 they became one of the inspirations behind the band Go West. If you listen to a Go West track like "Don't Look Down" and compare it to The Quick's song "Young Men Drive Fast" you can see that they're very similar in terms of style.
