I bought Nut Milk Bag bags on Amazon that I was using in a large jar to make cold brew. They are reusable. Those would work in place of Toddy's paper bags. I empty grounds in my garden (compost) and rinse the bag. I never use detergent on my mesh bags. I soak the bag in a little warm water with a 20% hydrogen peroxide mixture and rinse.
I have been using toddy for at least 5 years. Part of my coffee routine. Love toddy! Just put together my paper coffee bags to go the hyvee and grind my coffee
Great video! I've been a fan of Toddy since the late 1970s or so (pre silicone lid and filter bags). I'm the only coffee drinker in the house, so I'm going to try freezing part of a large batch. I've read that it's perfectly acceptable to do, but I won't know for sure until I try it. Also, back in the day, I would use a shot glass to measure out my concentrate (mugs were smaller 50 years ago). An instant fresh brew! Might just mx a shot or two with almond milk to enjoy 30 calories of heaven.
My grandparents had a Toddy Coffee Maker back in the 1980's. I think it may be the original cold brew coffee maker. They bought me one many years ago but we always drank it hot and it didn't cut it for me. I am really wanting some good cold brew for the summer, though, and am about to order one myself! Thanks for the great info! Because of you at Homegrounds, I now have a burr coffee grinder, scale, and a Bonavita Coffee Maker (which I LOVE!)
When you add the mesh filter, do you push it down into the hole? I can’t tell in any instructions online. I wasn’t sure if grounds would get past it if it was pressed in and slightly wrinkled at the sides. Very helpful video!
Great channel! Just did my first cold brew with the Toddy. I used Onyx Cold Brew beans. Somewhere I read the grind recommendations on the Baratza was between 25-28. I learned the hard way, as I woke up to a really bitter cold brew. I was going to do my next grind setting at 38. You mentioned you started at 40 and went back about 4 clicks. Did it taste under extracted until you reached 36? Thanks!

Very helpful video!
I would put the coffee ☕ in the filter. Let the grounds do their thang 😜
It's definitely the easiest way!
Great info! Thanks for making this video.

Correct, I adjusted until it tasted about to my preferences for extraction. Play around with time as well!
So my filter never let ANY liquid out. Like not a drop. Any tips?
You must have used the wrong ground size of coffee which clogs the filter if not using correct course of coffee.
Their recipe seems pretty strong at 1:5 coffee to water ratio. I've been going with 1:8.
It’s a concentrate, you’re supposed to mix with water with each cup you drink.
I like toddy ...👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
