      Rugs under a doing table get snagged each time you sit and pull the chair up to the table. Larger one would do better.

Do you know what I found the most interesting - something that gets me too - the mitre joins of the mirror frame - not fitting correctly and you have to colour it in to disguise the bad joins. these tips are invaluable and fabulous and I would love for you to show more of these tips - how to cover tiny flaws in furniture, fitting and the actual building.

    I would love to start a home staging business. I have staged all 3 homes I have sold, they go for over asking, and they always get comments that it looks beautiful, stunning, and even some people say “I can’t believe the pictures weren’t photoshopped” and “I feel like I walked on set of HGTV”. It makes me so happy to make other people feel so good seeing my work and feel so comfy and excited. How can I start such a business?

      @sellitquickhomestaging6435  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi Shannon,
      I appreciate that you took the time to watch and to comment! The space can be deceiving in the video... but in two places there wouldn't have been enough room to walk around if I put in a round to fit 6.🙂 I do use the faux TVs as well . This time I chose a mirror so the mirror would bounce light and make the small room look bigger. If the home had been larger, your suggestions would be right on!😉💜

    Love your work... You prefer to use a real bed to stage the rooms? I use airbeds quite frequently saves me space for other stuff in the kit :) I also just added a fake TV is lighter and easier to handle than the mirrors.

    • @sellitquickhomestaging6435
      @sellitquickhomestaging6435  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Matt! Thanks for taking the time to leave your thoughts:) I use both; Real beds in the Master and sometimes airbeds in the secondary bedrooms if staging is needed:) I like the faux TVs as well. I use mirrors more often because it serves a dual purpose. The shape allows a buyer to see where a TV can be hung, and it also reflects light into a room and makes it look bigger. It sounds like you are a big advocate for staging...bet you are one of the successful ones!! ;)

    I am considering majoring in interior design and using that degree to become a home stager. I was wondering if you could tell me about how much the average salary is for this. Also, do you get hired through a main office or is it a self served service? How do you personally feel about your decision to be a home stager?

    • @Lucy-yp1bm
      @Lucy-yp1bm Před 6 lety +9

      Jessica, I am a Home Stager. It is a true passion of love. You will find you have to love it, to do all the work. It is like moving twice a month. You spend a week planning, packing,moving and then the house sells a month later and back on the truck it goes. There are some really good staging mentors on Face Book that work together to help up and coming Designers. Be wary of people selling you classes. I have found you can learn most of what you need to know if you dig in and search the internet. As for how much to charge, it really depends on the project. I work threw referrals, and market myself. I wish you success in perusing a passion that is a lot of hard work, and very rewarding.

      Hi Zenobia! Thank you for taking the time to watch and subscribe! With constant moving of staging furniture dings do happen...I wanted to show how we touch it up. There is a furniture marker stick that can be purchased at Home Depot that is permanent ..I also use Sharpie LOL!

      Sell it Quick Home Staging Your work was very nice, but I am about to hire stagers for several thousand dollars and I just couldn’t get past the use of nicked furniture. Perhaps the pieces should be more carefully wrapped or your movers should be more careful...?

    Furniture is fine to show what the rooms can do, but I would rather have and see no carpet and giant paintings/mirrors if I am potential buyer. It looks like the buyer try to hide some problem by covering the walls and floors. Especially when the regulations said that you can't move stuff when you are looking at a house.

      Sofie P...I do see your point😊 For some people this might be true..In my experience, like with model homes, many people want to see the whole look...like a cake with icing and flowersr..it gives it a finished look. Thank you for taking the time to comment 😊

    The furnishings are so inexpensive. You should invest in some luxury staging furnishings and offer them for sale with the home.

    Question please
    Where does all these furniture goes ?🤔
    I have no idea what is staging !?
    Thanks
    I love the design 👍🏼

      I don't know how I missed this question!! Hoping better late than never:) I have a warehouse that stores all my own inventory. Staging is making a home look beautiful and functional through the use of furniture/ furnishings. It helps buyers visualize how the space will work for them as well as giving them a bit of "eye candy" that makes them fall in love with the home and write an offer! I encourage people to use staging techniques on beautifying their own home; even if its not for sale! Have a great weekend!

    I think you're off to a great start, but those rugs! For the dining room it was.too small and for the living room the placement seemed wrong. I'm sure you'll grow...

      @sellitquickhomestaging6435  Před 6 lety +7

      Tim Buggs thank you for taking the time to comment 😊 for design and living, you are right, but for staging everything is inconspicuously slightly undersized so the rooms look larger😊 5 yrs going strong..but always growing!

    • @jenniferjahns4006
      @jenniferjahns4006 Před 6 lety +1

      I would guess also, cost effective. Rugs can be very expensive.

    • @sellitquickhomestaging303
      @sellitquickhomestaging303 Před 6 lety +2

      Yes, Jennifer, good point; but that's not the main reason...staging is different than design...If you cover up too much of the flooring, buyers may think we are hiding defects, cracks etc.. also it makes the room look much larger when the rug is smaller. these are 5x8' perfect for staging. I suspect Tim my be a designer, not a stager...but I appreciate All feedback:)

      Hi Morenita! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. I appreciate all feedback. I understand what you are saying....This was a video to show the "real staging" things go in and out of homes so often, I wanted to show this trick to cover up many imperfections. When it gets too noticeable, we retire the furniture. When we are finished. No one notices:) Have a wonderful week :)

  • @renegademasters9966
    @renegademasters9966 Před 5 lety

    You are not really showing the entire room when it is finished. The camera cuts are too quick and you show the cushions and ornaments and furniture close up but not how it looks from a distance.

      I don't think it's a real big deal. This is just to show people in general how the house would looks with ordinary furniture. Now you might have real fancy furniture but I think most people have just plain furniture. Besides, they are selling the house, not the furniture.
