    The asylum question is formular. They are keeping record on your file that you have no problem back home. If in the future you file for asylum, they may use that statement against you in court unless the new threat back home came into existence after you entered. Food for thought.

      Was asked same question, but after I have answered, the immigration officer told me you have caught me and gave me my passport said you are good to go

    Dj, the police stopped him because of his luggages. His luggages were huge thats why. You can't spend two weeks carrying huge luggages. The police at the entrance will stop you after realising your luggages doesn't correspond to your period of stay

    He should look up Senegalese restaurants in Montreal. That would be close to the African foods he is used to, e.g. Diolo
    Montreal has cheap public transit.
    There is a ticket that allows unlimited travel from Friday 4 pm to Monday 5 am, that should allow him to explore Montreal proper.

    Because your ticket says SSSS, which means extra security check-ups.I work around the immigration so I know what you faced. Whenever you see SSSS on your boarding pass, prepare for extra check up and questions

    Rules for a first-time traveller to a new country
    1. Pay for your hotel reservations, they may call to verify if in doubt
    2. Booked your return ticket
    3. Have you host address or your accommodation address
    4. Never bring big bags if your stay is less than 2 weeks
    5. Never come with your school certificates
    6. Be confident and maintain eye contact, go straight to the point. Don't try to talk too muc
    7. Bring some cash with you

    Canada is a bilingual country. Quebec, biggest city is Montreal speaks French. It is the only province in Canada that speaks French.

      He was confident not arrogant… if you watch border patrol as he says he does, you would understand you do not have to appear timid infront of CBSA or any immigration. Look them in eye when answering questions, do not fidget … etc

    He should be aware that Canada Border Services Agency ( CBSA ) officers, under the Customs Act , have the authority to examine all goods that cross the border. This means that, just like your luggage, their officers can examine your cell phones, tablets, laptops and any other digital device you are carrying.
