My wife and I honeymooned there in 1994. We played mini-golf in that room. We swam in that pool. We ate in the dining room, huge portions of mediocre food. As the only people in the nightclub watching the band I yelled Freebird and they played it. It was so bad that it was good. We had a great kitschy time.
Wow. Stayed there in 1979 honeymoon. At the time was decent and affordable. Lots of great memories. What a shame, time marches on and you either keep up with it or fall behind.
I live right by tannersville and i used to come here all the time for years back when the whole place was untouched. None of the windows were broken and it wasn't trashed like that. It's nearly impossible to get in now because of the security. Last time I went I got stopped by the police. They're tearing the whole place down and building a hospital.
*That is amazing* - Thankyou for sharing your visit -the Scheherazane- nightclub is ace you could just imagine this smoke filled room with exotic music with tabulahs playing and a cast of belly dancers on the stage in front of that golden curtain ! With couples talking some dancing waiters & hostesss doing what the do ? Just amazing *Thankyou for sharing*
A lot of resorts have closed in the Mid Atlantic states since the 1970s when the post-Vietnam war economy hit the brakes. This also coincided with just resort vacationing falling out of fashion. During the filming of Dirty Dancing in 1985, none of the NYS resorts where the events originally took place were open and when Great American Films tried to get at least one of them open for production, they were in this condition. So Dirty Dancing was filmed in Virginia and North Carolina.
To be honest, I think some of the design has come full circle from fashionable to extremely dated to some of it probably looking modern again. I think the design of the lobby area is pretty cool
Also, Birchwood is a resort close to this one. That one is really really cool but they have a security guard with a rifle. I was chased out by him so I vowed to never go in these buildings again lol.
Back in its hey day, I bet the owners thought it would still be around in a hundred years. So sad a place that used to flow with money and life now lays in ruin slowly being reclaimed by nature. The water getting in has done far more damage than the vandals. Is this the one that had the fire.
what year was this closed down? my wife and I had our honeymoon here I think. it was in September '95... it was pretty run down 70's era style back then.
The door you go through at 4-31 is the door that opened on Dan Bell -in his video ! - On the first video I watched about this place - It's a damn shame that the people watch these great vids - (Well some great some not !) - But instead of going in looking around and filming - You get others who like to go in maybe after watching these videos and steal+thieve - Smash everything up !- Look at Dan Bells vid of the Summit resort store (around 4-31) it was still partley stocked up ? All the windows were still intact (published 25 Sept 2015) Your video is published 27 Sept 2017 - 2 years neary to the day and all this damage has been done ? It's just crazy !
Great video and explore Would love to see it in person but I hear this is one of the most risky ones to visit at they do or did have an armed guard. If I recall this is the one where he has a room he stays in. Man this place has really gotten trashed in the last few years
Went to check it out in 2001 for a get away. We decided not to stay there it was very dated. Come to find out years later, that it was known to be a big swingers resort. Every night ( sometimes during broad daylight)there were orgies/gangbangs u name it going on and pretty much everyone was invited, word would get out on which rooms were partying and there would be up to 20-30 people naked and having sex in one room! NO BS, I actually met someone who regularly went there back in the day. I wonder if that kind of partying goes on in the poconos these days?

Wow, just wow. I can just picture the lounge acts of the 1970s in that hidden gem. Great content! :)
LOVE that 70's decadence!!! Miss it so bad!!! :'(

Imagine partying there in the 70s. Wow must have been some great times.

I had my honeymoon there. I have a photo of us sitting in the lounge in front of the photo, that you show at the 9:05 mark. 1984
I hope you got more footage of the cocktail lounge. Footage like this will find it's way into history archives. keep it up.
my brother worked there in the late 90's

That lounge was amazing!! Great explore.
besides just being really dirty, and messy that place could be saved with some TLC

It's still full of cum and pubes, a group did a study here a while back, found 2 types of STDs there, yuck
the lobby still has power the dangling lights use to light up but i guess the bulbs burn out look for slightly older videos
Awesome video, I love this place soooo vintage!!! But you also shout have shoot some of the rooms/ villas there, this rooms looks so 70s.
Love this video, u should do more abandon hotels, and resorts.

Seeing the promo pictures next to how it is now, is so weird, creepy almost
What city is this resort located?
You should have looked for a post card in that big mess. I mean you didn’t stay over but you did visit the place 😁🤷🏻♀️
I know this is over a year late, but I really am proud you're wearing a proper mask.
When did this place close?
Hey Ace, thinking of visiting the other resorts?
It's sickening how much vandalism there is now compared to watching dan bell's video he did how ever long ago that was
Nearly 3 years ago.
Nice Ace's Adventures :)
Was in the area recently and saw it :-) wish I got to explore

It's like a 70's time capsule
A heart shaped bar? The schmaltz is strong in this one.
Dan isnt the only one allowed to explore and document these places. Just stupid saying hes copying Dan.smh

I have a pic from my honeymoon at the rock fountain and pond in the lobby
1995
Peggy Hunt email it to me!
Next, you should do a series of video where you check into dirty hotel rooms and document how dirty they are.
BlackBarsMatter landscapeplease good idea, maybe after that I’ll do dirty restaurants too, some guy named dan right?
Great video. Thanks alot. That place has really deteriorated. Sad. Should be demolished.
Nancy Darling supposedly it’s getting torn down for a hospital
That’s really weird i have a picture of my parents in front of that rock (used to be a)waterfall lol
Annie Urban can you email that to me?
No diving well duh lolol
Place is trashed now because people like you give out locations online.
Enjoying The Sun 577-Jersey Customs or you’re ignorant and don’t realize how many people know about this
preaching to the audience is a major turnoff. don't be such a downer...
Yeah, its just gonna make more people want to go.
