This is a massive blast from the past. I always wanted one of these as well as the probe, but at the time I could only afford the Micronta logic probe, which I still have and use for micro-controller projects nearly 40 years later; although recent (literally just now in fact) google searches have just made me aware of some little tricks it can do with just an added diode.
Good demonstration too of the instability caused by leaving inputs 'floating', now imagine the other 5 inverters doing the same, just totally invisibly, until weird ripples start appearing on the power supply rails.
