Today I'm going to attempt to solve the Sandfield Donut Puzzle! This Puzzle was handcrafted for The International puzzle party in 1996. It's a wooden dovetail puzzle made out of maple and walnut with a clever solution!

I think when he spun the donut on its edge (donut is on its side like a wheel) it inadvertently moved the locks out of the way as if he was blowing it
i see why the puzzle’s so old, the donut’s gone so stale it’s almost like it’s made of wood

I’ve had the cast equa for about 6 months. Took it apart quite quickly but never been able to get it back together so can’t wait for that video
My first thought, literally, was "Wow, this is like cup of coffee puzzle, so, if it a donut - you need to eat it!"
You gave this hint yourself with cup of coffee to the guy, who was solving it - try to think about puzzle like it's not a puzzle, but what it based on, and act like you would do with the original (but clearly you yourself dont remember about your own advices 😂)

The Cast Equa was the first Hanayama puzzle i picked up. Absolutely love it, and it took me about an hour to solve the first time.
OH MY GOSH!!! I literally got the puzzle that you mentioned at the beginning of the video last Christmas and have not been able to solve it since. Excited to solve it with the best puzzle solver on CZcams and his amazing followers!

Two dodecahedrons, and two squares, that’s the shape of that one Haniyama puzzle fidget toy!
It can't be though, dodecahedrons have 12 flat faces.

@@gamingelementalist6725 No, icosohedrons have 20 faces. This puzzle is made using 12 pyramids with square bases, which means one shape will be a cube and the other shape will be a tetrakis hexahedron.
