My moonlight is also one of those not growing. I even transition it to Leca. At first it looked nice pushing out new growth but now it looks so sad with curled leaves.😢

It’s fine to rehome a plant, sometimes they just don’t bring us joy even if we tried to glow them up. I’m proud of you for being so brave about it ✨

I'm doing a plant purge as well. I gave my lupinum away as well. It was so slow growing and I had it on a pole and I hated the growth pattern.
I have got rid of most of my plants, over 100, I now just have succulents and cacti because I got too stressed with caring for them all and the addiction became a problem. It’s so lovely not to have so many plants 😂
You’re the only person I’ve seen/heard acknowledge crawling plants and the different planters they might prefer. Would you consider doing a video on crawling plants?
I've been doing a little spring purge too. It feels good to be able to pass along a plant someone else would like that no longer sparks joy for you.
Id probably give my left pinky finger for that undulata 😂 😅 its so beautiful, its unfortunate its not loving the new place. I've heard theyre a little finicky
My Treubii took a long time to get going, but now i can't stop it! It's currently trailing along the perimeter of the room and drinks like a BEAST!

The trubii moonlight is a difficult one for me. It’s never happy 😭 and it’s not easy to root either.
Mine roots really easily, but it looks just like Claire’s. It’s just there is a perfect description.

after this video.. my Scindapsus Treubii Moonlight is going straight to the trash bin! :D omg, It looks exactly like yours! I've been trying to grow it for half a year, it gave me lots of healthy roots but only 3 deformed and browning/ripping leaves. I don't mind slow growers but I don't know what is wrong with it, srsly. I have so many rare exotic plants, anthuriums, phillos and etc and all of them are happy, even Treubii dark form. This honest review.. it was an eye opener for me :DDD

Paraiso Verde needs A LOT of light. Like I'm talking cacti levels of light lol I had one that was all green as well. Chopped it way back just to the nub and put it literally maybe 20cm away from my grow lights and I'm finally getting variegation.
Yes! I can relate. I have plants that have not given me a new leaf since I purchased them. It is very discouraging. I will put them on my outside porch when weather permits. I hope they will take off.

I understand not wanting to keep some plants. I’m giving my favorite plant (Cebu blue) one last try. I’m kind of disliking it as I put so much time & effort into it, but it’s always crappy or dead. Love your hair & makeup. Thanks for sharing Claire!

sound has always been perfect, maybe it’s due to people watching through earphones or speakers? never had an issue with sound or volume with any of your videos. your very soft speaking which is relaxing, maybe people have their volume too loud…. you’d hear it when your editing otherwise. don’t panic claire, your doing amazing and the views show that! could watch you all day, softly spoken and great pronunciation! xx
If you see the stem on your paraiso verde, it looks just like mine before it started giving me insane variegation. I think if you hold off just a tiny bit longer, it will be really rewarding and start growing super fast too. Mine just started variegating INSANELY just about at the same size as yours is now. and the leaves literally tripled in size at the same time. But no pressure xx
So refreshing to see someone decluttering. I've been wondering why everyone loves everything including the bizarre looking, seemingly useless plants that do nothing for your space.

Good video Claire. I have joined the ‘Crowley’ (Good Omens) school of plant growing. It’s either do better or be compost😉 If a plant is bringing you down instead of bringing you joy, it’s time to re-home it.
I definitely fall out of love with plants too, especially if they're not doing well and just look sad for a long time. So far I've kept them anyway because I had the space, but a couple have definitely died from lack of attention, so better to sell them or give them away, especially with the amount of plants you've got!
I know the feeling! My collection is minuscule in comparison to yours but when I hit a stage with a plant where I’ve just done everything I can think of I find myself asking my planty bestie - can I give up on this now?? I’m sad your Hoya Eskimo made me want one so badly and it didn’t arrive well then suddenly all the leaves went to mush. I’m praying that since everything below soil is fine that it’ll just reset (patience permitting!).

I was surprised to not see your PPP on this list after its rough transition to your new place…would love to hear an update on how you’re feeling about that one these days! For me your PPP was such an iconic Jungle Haven plant (it’s the reason i found your channel!) and it’s hard to imagine your collection without it! It was kind of sad to hear how indifferent you feel about it now, considering how in love with it you used to be. Would love a PPP update video with the good bad and ugly of your long journey with that plant and what you’ve decided to do with it! Consider this a request :) Keep up the joy giving content!
I'm with you on begonias ! I don't know why I've never gravitated to them for myself but there are times I've seen them in other peoples homes and I like them 🤷🏻♀️ some sort of love from afar I have for them 🤣
Girl, I love fine tuning my collection. Ya gotta test plants out. If it doesn't jive with my energy, I pass it off to someone else who's EXCITED....just like I was. It may be there jive.
No shame here. If I'm not loving a plant anymore, that's sucker's out the door.😂 Someone else will love it more and it makes a spot for one that I will love.

I feel I’ve seen quite a few people already give up on their burle marx fantasy 😂😂 Mine is still tiny on a small lazy moss pole, which means it dries out faster and it’s a pain to constantly water, but I love getting the chance to admire the veining on that plant, it is so stunning and mesmerizing! I think you should keep a tiny cutting and shove it in with another prop that way it’s a 2 for 1 water!
I feel the same about my Begonias. In the end, I placed them outside on my back veranda. They prefer it there and are doing well but I honestly forget about them most of the time 😔
My philodendron micans and golden violin are on that list for me. Sometimes my mom will want the ones I'm planning to rehome, which is nice because I can visit with them later or getting cuttings if I change my mind😅
Mentioned this on Good Growing. My philodendron Bob Cee just caused angst...pest issues, long petioles, not loving it. When I got rid of it today, saw that the root system was terrible to non existent. I am much better at understanding what plants work and don't work in my environment; with limited space this is a good thing! My daughter takes most of my discards. We can't have ALL the plants...lol! PS: love your channel.
I love purple things and I love fuzzy things but tonight I gave away my pale puma cuz it keeps me wondering if it has spiders living in it 🕸️ 🤢 Not worth the anxiety and the recipient is exited 😊
I downsized a bit also because i am afraid of how much wattering i will have to do in the summer . I gave away mostly plants i had multiples of ,or plants that just didn't bring me joy anymore.
My Melano is on his last chance too, mine was randomly rotting new leaves and it was so dissapointing to see new growth just to have it turn black. I am hoping that starting it new, getting a stronger root system will fix it.

I have few that I'm just not that much into anymore but there are my bigger plants and if I would rehome then my home would feel so empty and currently no budget to replace them with any of my wishlist plants :( but slowly I'm getting some new cuttings and maybe next year I will be able to change my collection bit more :)

I'm purging too. I have over 400 plants (probably WELL over) and I just want to concentrate on my favorites. I have so many to get rid of that it's overwhelming my efforts to actually get it done. Sigh.

Enjoyed your video, I love that plant the scindapsus, but having problems with it water it leaves curl under, don’t know what else to do to help it.😊😊
I think you would love the monstera adansonii better if you just put a support for it so that it has something to climb up. I don't have it on a moss pole but just a heart shaped trellis made from willow. I had been making baskets from willow and I had so left over ones...

The Undulata doesn't look sad in this video. It is very desirable and you should sell it if it is not for you, but don't cut it up as it may not be that easy to root. All summer I put plants out infront of my house with a free sign on them. Some just haven't grown enough to meet my expectation, and some I do not treasure enough to take up my limited space. I do want to make room for new purchases, new challenges!

I so understand the need to edit your collection. Our tastes change over time and we become less enchanted with some of our plants. I would be interested in purchasing the hoya undulata as a whole plant.
That Undulata is quite rare,isn’t it? Impossible to get in my country and a very sought after plant
My moonlight is giving me trouble for some reason too. I’ve repotted it and it’s still yellowing idk 🤷♀️

Does anyone know what causes the discoloration she mentions on the scindapsus treubii moonlight? I have this on my plant and am not sure how to prevent it further.
I agree in all but the trubii, mine grows like a weed.

I have some plants like this too: Epipremnum Manjula has not been doing well ever since I bought it. It has max. 3 leaves and then the old one dies - I propagated it, it gets the best light in the house, nice humidity, and still not doing well and I don´t know why/what to do with it anymore. I tried soil and pon and it struggle in both. Only its roots look happy 😀
I would like to get rid of my calathea musaica - I don´t like the look of her much, but she is doing so well and is making these beautiful new leaves - so I can´t decide.
Then my stromanthe triostar - it did wonderful the first year, then winter came, and since then it´s alive but not doing well. But with her I still have plans what to do and I think she will be fine after that, but that bloody Manjula... oh well, I guess we all have plants that we struggle with - it´s quite a relief for me to see that I´m not alone in it.

yes, it is a good decision to get rid of plants, you don´t like anymore or which you neglect. Otherwise they are going to die. I can understand, that the philodendron paraiso verde is not doing it for you, but why keeping a cutting, just let it go. But when I here you talking about hoya undulata, I think "please don´t cut this beautyful plant!" There will be somebody, who wants a healthy big hoya.

I feel you...I just lost my cuprea to root rot...I treated it, it rotted some more, so I cut it again, and it just rotted further till there was nothing left. I feel so empty...!
@@tinapomfrey5412 Thanks for the nice comment. I have two of these beautiful plants. I think they are so beautiful, the beautiful shape and shine of the leaves... amazing! I don't find the care really difficult, they like moist soil but never too wet. That's how I take care of these plants. and they are doing great. But... after every drop of water I give them, they start to drip back quite quickly on the leaves. I know that's part of these plants and I find the biological process fascinating. But to return to the topic of this video; Love for the Cuprea, but if I had to give up a plant then, with pain in my heart, it would probably be this one... but maybe not...? I feel your loss.
Most of the plants your showing to be rid of look like they need more light and humidity , you have to many to care for the right way. USA
What I don’t understand is you get rid of plants because you find too many is overwhelming yet later you will buy more in🧐🤨
