I have been saying this, there are rich mineral resources illegally harness everyday in the north.
Is quite unfortunate that the government's attention is only on crude oil. The northern oligarchs are using their uneducated populace to illegally obtained such minerals while their eyes is always on crude products.
Based on the way our constitution is today; the federal government along with the concerned states should put an immediate moratorium on all gold mining in Nigeria until a proper legal framework that ensures transparency in the mining chain in the country is established. All concerned states should have a proper accounting of their resources and fish out all illegal mining in their states. I know that Edo, my home state is already taking strong steps in this direction.
