What is the Yamaha DJXII ?
It is a sound module and a MIDI loops player. It has 100 instrumental voices, 80 FX sounds (vocal, scratches ect.) and 23 drum kits wich is a huge value of this unit. The ROM wave memory of this unit is only 4MB ! Also there is master live FX processor on board. There are two versions of DJXII - box (DJXIIB) and keyboard (DJXII). Both can be battery operated.
    The patterns may be:
    - processed thru internal FX processor
    - the tracks (up to 8) may be muted or unmuted during a playback
    - pitch shifted (preserving tempo or not)
    - tempo changed (preserving pitch or not)
    - note-shifted ( non drums voices only).
The DJXII can read standard MIDI files format (MID) however DJXII will not playback a standard *MID songs due it's sound module is non general MIDI (GM) standard.
User patterns/loops may be up to 85kb in total, and they may be organized in 5 slots and 10 variations each.
Don't throw away your DJXII ! You can still have a lot of fun, jamming with this old school gear :)
    Thanks for watching !

    Dope.
I have this board along with many others.
Its super fun. I actually gravitate to it more the JDXI for a quick jam sess
Most of the sounds on the internal sound banks are lame
Therefore i use another synth via The input on the DJX2

Thanks, I will think about it. Creating patterns is similar to creating MID format songs. After that, there is two methods to launch patterns into DJX. First the Pattern Launcher software by Yamaha. The second method is a SYSEX launching. You can launch a pattern using for example Windows Media Player or many other music players. In this case the pattern must be converted to SYSEX and saved as MID format in order to launch it from WMP

I have bought a DJX 1 this year. Totally disagree throwing away this kind of keyboards or sell them instead to somebody.
