Great part 2.. Fun insights ands sneak peaks! Looking forward to these different Allegiance sets coming out! I really dig their enthusiasm for the product as well, thank you Upper Deck for keeping us entertained and intrigued! Great stuff all around in my books!
A question I have, unrelated to the sets they mention in this conversation, is how they determined the base set backdrops for Marvel Annual 21-22? I know it's so knit-picky, but why is there a Donny Cates Thor comic cover used as the backdrop for the Captain America card? Especially when the text on the back describes events that happened in a Coates comic? Why not just use the cover of the comic that actually includes the events the card describes? Same for their using a Hellions backdrop for the Magneto card? Or the World War She-Hulk Avengers backdrop for the Blade card? It just seems like a odd oversight for a product that is geared toward comic nerds.
If Upper Deck does Marvel Platinum for next year, have 5 of the top artists who drew best on that character, and place them on as the base cards of that character. There are well over 1,000 Marvel characters. Put all of them in the next set. Less known, place Short Prints on them. All cards with same variations of colors like this set. Make it so that the collectors will never be able to complete the base set. Because we, as collectors, don't like getting bunch of doubles of the same cards. Especially if it's a character no one knows
My son loves collecting marvel cards these days ...but ...It seems it's more towards adults with adults budgets ... 😢..They need make a more affordable hobby box , blaster , and packs for kids ...my son just enjoys opening packs of cards and seeing what he can get ...not for an $60 blaster box and over $100 for a hobby . keep those designed for adult collectors...make some for the kids at a lower price...they are your future customers 😊
Were those cards signed on the actual card or on the sleeve. Some of the signatures went completely over the face of the character.. That would completely ruin it imo
Um, so not to be a downer, but phase 4 and beyond outside of spider man was a train wreck. So im not sure how many people are going to be rushing out to get cards for movies and shows that people really didn't like.
I appreciate the interview but on a critical side it doesnt seem that they are genuinely passionate about their product ... lots of "buzzwords" and hype ... literally Millkin' Mickey for profit... maybe if it does well then well we might consider yar yar.... "allure or black diamond"... lol oh my... just focus on the next black diamond we dont need 1000 more parallels of garbage...

Hmmm an X-Men 97 set? From what they've shown they'll just be updated re-issues for the 1992 Jim Lee series 1? Has to be more to it than just that!
