Antonio Banderas is not a method actor ( he referenced at this when he said that coming back for the role was difficult but he enjoyed it according to his previous experience. If he were a method actor I bet he'd love Cath for real and they'd end up dating in real life. All method actors ( especially romance ) fall in love with their co-worker at some point, because to master something you have to believe it and make it real.
