I’m a single dad and I didn’t know much about doing hair. Your videos helped out a lot. I’m a bit more confident doing my daughters hair now!
I’m so happy my videos have helped you learn how to do your baby girl’s hair! That is awesome! I know she loves and appreciates you so much ❤️
Wow! Wasn’t expecting a response but yea! Thanks.i made my rice water (with orange peels) and we’re doing a 30 day challenge lol
OlJohnJoe i salute you
Key thanks. It was either keep payin folks or have my daughter lookin crazy out here in these streets lol couldn’t do that
You’re the best dad ever. So sweet.
I did the rice water wash today for the first time, when I say that water smelt like straightttt bounce that ass. I hope to gain some good results
Lovevera Crawford bounce that ass 👏🏾😂 girl yes it smells horrible! Add peppermint oil to it before you ferment it! It makes a BIG difference and kills the smell! I promise you’ll only smell peppermint 🤗
🤣 made me literally lol
Lovevera Crawford I really thought you was going to say bounce as in the fabric softener too funny
I tried the peppermint, it definitely helped with the smell
I'm weak😂😂
You all are scaring me about the smell, but I definitely want to try this.
Daphne Bondu I used organic brown rice and let it sit for 2 days. No smell 🤷♀️
Dis is how i feel rn no capp
D Bondu-Kelly just put cinnamon in the water and let sit for 4 days. No smell. Then add rosemary and or peppermint oil or tea tree oil. Smells like heaven. Store left over in frig. No worries.
The smell is from it over-fermenting. And if that does happen, just don't take a big, curious whiff. Take a small, cautious sniff. 😂
D Bondu-Kelly i put lemon essential oil in mine and after weeks it didnt smell too bad
Maaaan I’m using wild growth oil in mine💯 and I better be Rapunzel tomorrow 😂
Who u telling. Lol..Im keeping it simple too

Wild growth don’t work for me

This is used in China. The ladies that use it boil it with orange peels and some oil. They are older Ladies in their 50s 60s 70s and 80s and none of them has gray hair. 😱 I gotta find the video I found it on.
Here it is czcams.com/video/ZwP5GlF0IDM/video.html
Yes! They are the originators of the rice water trend!
Omg
What type of water should you use? Distill, bottled or tap?
Are you aware chinese people naturally have long hair?
I thought y’all were wimps about the smell until I made some of this and smelt it myself and damnnnnn, it’s nasty
Right Same

Tidy Nails haven’t tried it yet but was thinking “can’t be that bad 🙄” but now you’ve scared me lmao
*I dont think it's right I let the rice sit in it for 1 hour then I took the rice out and let the water sit for 24 hours but it doesnt smell bad at all*
@@xxqueenxiexx1314 let it sit til it stinks/ferments bcuz that causes yr hair growth. i let mine sit in dark closet for a few days. then strain it&add baking soda to kill the odor

Would you recommend adding orange peels to the rice water??

Shit crazy that I’m allergic !! What about Aloe Vera ?
I’ve notice how my hair has changed texture a little. It’s extra soft. I spray my hair down every Wednesday leave it in til the next day wash like normal. Then spray a little more rice water and I’m on the go. It’s growing 😄

This is literally the best rice water video on CZcams , it’s short and gets to the point ! 😘😘 Thank you
I dont get how people say their rice water smells bad because mine smells okay I use jasmine rice and it smells like jasmine rice water it doesnt smell bad atall.
Because Jasmine Rice has somewhat of a lighter scent, smells good. It doesn't bare a stronger smell like other rice after fermentation. It's usually what people would recommend if you're worried about smell. Or to just add your favorite essential oils. Sometimes the things that smell worse do help, lol. But I found anytime after 24 hours will make it start baring the 'spoiled' smell.
Candaycia Thompson I agree hun. I tried two types of rice and I think it was the easy cook brand that stank just a lil bit. Other than that I use long grain and its fine 😊
Me too. I used Jasmine Brown rice and it didn't smell that bad. I only fermented it for 24 hrs
@@imperviousai8318 No Jasmine rice is very scented but it's a sweet fragrant scent. It's considered one of the aromatic rices. That's why it's called Jasmine. It's the best to use to avoid the stink.
@@cfoster6804 Yes I forgot to reedit it. Its all I use since it smells a bit better after its fermented. Well for 24 hours anyway. Any more after that and it starts to smell spoiled, lol.
Peppermint oil feels like sex on the scalp 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾. My favorite hair oil especially because I have dry scalp
Tiffany B YESSSSSSS!! 😍🙌🏾
Feels like what now😅😄😄😄😄?
does it make it grow fast
I think I will try adding some vanilla flavoring to my rice water because I don't want to use any oils because everyone knows water and oil doesn't mix
Thank you...enjoyed. I did the BIG CHOP to my hair and I'm enjoying the journey in watching my NATURAL HAIR grow out. I do have a problem, I was wearing my hair every day in a HIGH BUN since cutting my hair I lot a lot of hair in the middle of my head. It's growing back nicely but slowly (ALL OF MY HAIR). Now I'm going to try this as a moisturizer and will be mix my own hair oil in it as well. I will keep you post on my returning hair spot and it's GROWTH.
Thanks 🌹
OHHHHHHH I dumped it out because I thought I let it sit to long 🤣 It smelled AWFUL.
Maybe I should've thrown mine out too! lol czcams.com/video/H8T7htGrnb4/video.html
T Banks 😅🤣
T Banks 😂😂😂😂 meanwhile I used it and many ran from me
my mom dumped mine out lmao
Me too. I did 3 times
I think this rice water thing may be an actual thing 😄 I prepared mine like in the video (minus orange peels/peppermint oil) & I let it sit for days (I was waiting for the fermentation smell). Then I shampooed & applies to my hair for 30 minutes. It left my hair so hard that I declared I wasn’t using it again. A few weeks go by & I look in the mirror & thought to myself, dang my hair is growing! It wasn’t until a week or so later that I remembered I had done the rice water treatment 😂 fast forward a few more weeks & I am now trying it using the boiling method. It was softer applying it to my hair, so I see some growth I think I’ll use the boiling prep method. Just thought I’d share 😁
Omg that is amazing! You must have low porosity hair then huh? One of my other supporters sent me a message and said since she’s low porosity she’s been doing the rice water treatment every 3 weeks instead of every week like me and she’s had great results! ❤️
Jaazz Mary great to know 😁 thxs
Healthoverlength your really supposed to dilute it before use
Ilicia Gordon learned that the hard way 😄
Healthoverlength I’m glad you know that now. I just started using it today we shall see how it goes.. I like you name btw as I am going to focus on health myself. Blessing queen
I would love to do this rice water thing but the way y’all describe the smell I’ll have to pass due to my pregnant nose. As soon as I drop this baby I’m in!!
Lauren Gamble try with jasmine rice girl! Smells just like rice water lol
I hope you have a wonderful birth! 💜
Lauren Gamble also hair during pregnancy usually gets long & luxurious by taking prenatal vitamins which I have started back on & I’ll be 64 years young.
Dont have problems with the smell. Not sure what people are going on about
Use essential oils
Good instructions I am going to try this but instead of the orange peel and peppermint I will use some coconut oil
Hey Girly , You and Jordan have a beautiful family 😩😩🥰 ... I been knowing Jordan since Oaklandon girl and it’s so good to see ppl I grew up with puttin 317 on the map in my suggested videos !! U better work sis 💃🏽 👑
Awwwww! Thank you so much! ❤️
May I say , you are adorable. Your hair is absolutely beautiful. I really enjoy watching your videos. And the rice water, yes, I love it as well. I use jasmine rice or brown rice. Not only do I use essential oils for their natural benefits and to cover up the smell, I Infuse herbs into my water , too. I use sometimes fenugreek seeds, Curry leaves, or basil leaves. Fenugreek seeds, we all know have hair growing benefits, but Curry leaves and basil leaves also are great for hair growth.
Valerie Dow oh wow that is such a great idea!!!! I’ll definitely have to try that soon! Thank you so much ❤️
@@JaazzMary you are so very welcome. I have to say, I am truly delighted that you want to try my idea.
I used the rice water for a month and had AMAZING results! I even documented my use of rice water on my CZcams channel. Who ever thought that something in my pantry would give my hair so much growth!!❤️
The concept really works I've been doing this for a while now there's a significant difference
I used the rice water for 5 days in a roll and I noticed a big difference. I don't wash it out and it doesn't stink because I use essential oil in it and I followup it up by sealing my hair with Vitamin e oil and letting it air dry. I was shocked that it grow that much and that fast.
Are you just imagining is grown ?
#NotificationSquad 🤙🏽💙💙
Lasygirl Z02,, I use the rice water on the 3rd day. I use 1/4 cup of rice water straight away and I freeze the rest, until my next wash day.
I used jasmine rice it actually smelled like caramel popcorn
Ooo I have that
I used organic basmati, and half organic jade pearl. I love the color and smell.
*MY EXPERIENCE* : So I have been using rice water for about a week now. I recently had in braid extensions so when I took it out my hair was dry and the shedding was real! I did my wash day last week and it didnt show any results but it did help with shedding. My hair was in a puff all week and since the smell was so strong I decided just to spray it on my hair line because since I wore braids all the time when I was younger the braids messed up my hair line so my hairline is pushed back but I still have edges. Anyways so I didnt use it on my hair and I was planning on washing my hair this weekend but since it was in a puff I decided to do it because there was tell residue and whole bunch of stuff. So I'm washing my hair and mind you that I shed like crazy (this is before I sprayed the rice water in) And there IS NO SHEDDING. Very little I would literally have like two golf balls full of hair when I was done with wash day but I had very little shedding. So I decided to deep condition and put rice water on my hair at the same time ( I saw a lady in another video do that) and let it sit for a few hours because that's what I did the last time. I haven't seen any growth yet but rice water is great for detangling, it added a shine in my hair, and my hair did get a lot thicker just not length wise. But I give rice water a thumbs up 👍
Do you wash your hair after and how ling do u leave it in? Xxxxx
Mine rice water smells just like...rice😂
MsBlackjack50 how long do you let it ferment? And is the container you’re keeping it in sealed shut?
@@JaazzMary i use organic rice. I put 1 cup of rice with 1 cup of water. Then in the fridge for 24 hours (or longer). I use glass jar. I let it sit in my hair for 2-3 hours. Sorry for my bad English hahah
MsBlackjack50 your English is perfectly fine! 🤗 But that’s why it doesn’t have a smell because you let it sit in the fridge for 24 hours... when it’s put into the fridge, the fermentation process stops! Leave it out for 24 hours then put it in the fridge to preserve it. That’s how you get the most benefits from the rice water 😊
@@JaazzMary oh then I did it wrong. so I have to leave it at room temperature for 24 hours and then I can use it in my hair. my English is not so good. do I have to put it in the fridge or do not need it after 24 hours.
Thank you so much for the replies❤❤
Yes! And you can put it in the fridge if you have some left over after using it.
Omg i did this and my boyfriend was like babe stay that ass away from me 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Thank you for creating a video that is informational but also straight to the point!
Definitely taking tips from this video 🤞🏽❤️
Always dilute essential oils with a carrier like olive, coconut, argan, grapeseed etc. Water and oil don't mix so it's best and safer to dilute with carriers.
Sitting here with my rice wondering how to go about making my rice water, thanks for that girl, lemme go get me some lemon peels, I'm about do my first ever rice water😁
This actually works, thanks for sharing 💕
This is a great example for those who want to use the rice water to grow and strengthen their hair. I personally use the rice water 2 times a week and my hair has grown since I big chopped it last month.
I made mine with the peppermint oil and it felt good on my scalp.
Ooooo I can’t wait to use mine today!
Can I put castor oil in it?
• Brenda • you can but the odor will still be there. Try peppermint, lemon or lavender oil
@@debbik30 Ok Thank you!
Deborah Keeton what's peppermint oil
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!! ❤❤❤ GREAT JOB!!!! ❤❤❤ GREAT VIDEO!!!! ❤❤❤ YOU ARE AMAZING!!!! ❤❤❤
clear and concise video. very straight to the point. thanks queen
Yes, I’m going to be definitely putting essential oils in minds!
I just got a tragic haircut. And it's way too short, way shorter than I wanted it. I just bought some jasmine rice. Hopefully I see results. I've heard that this is great for thin hair and for short hair. I have incredibly short hair now and I've always had a pretty thin hair, I will update to see how this works because I am desperate.
- UPDATE: It's been almost 2 months already. And let me just say HALLELUJAH to this. My hair has definitely grown faster than it normally would. It was at my jaw line and now goes a little past my collar bones. (: It also helps breakage. I can use heat on my hair a little more calmly now.
Side note: even with using jasmine rice, it'll still get to stinking lol. Worth it tho.
Vivi G. how did you use it? like what are the steps you used to make it, and how did you use it on your hair? :) im so happy for you btw!!!
How did you use it?
I’ve done rice water when I first chopped my hair and it really did grow my hair
Thanks for this video! I’ll be starting rice water soon on my hair I’m excited to see how my hair takes to it ❤️
Yaaayy!! Please keep me updated on how your hair likes it!
Excited about my progress....trying it today
The stuff that you’re “washing off” is actually protein. Which is really healthy for your hair.
That's what I thought. Like.. Aren't you washing off what you need? When I can, I would use organic rice and not rinse.
So do u wash the rice water out or let it dry and style as usual
Yea. I don’t think you’re rinsing any “dirt” off.
Yup
@@melissaegan954 You rinse out the dirt then pour another cup of water in it and “wash it” with your hands to get all the nutrients out and pour that water into a jar to store for 1-5 days to ferment. You can keep the rice in there or use the left over rice to cook it or do it again.
I do suggest brown rice when it comes to smell as well because when I let it ferment over night it did not smell bad❤️
Kar Holliday that’s what I keep hearing! Once I run out of this white rice, I’m going to try the brown rice!
I luv u so much u just gat yourself a new subcriber💓❤💗

YALL. eucalyptus oil is your best friend. put some in the spray bottle and you’re good to go, it’s so strong that you can’t smell the rice water at ALL
The smell is horrendous. 😲Thanks for the remedy’s to that one..Lol I love using rice water. Thanks for sharing.
Definitely going to try this! I’m glad I seen this video before I try it....definitely going to use the orange peels.
You are so to the point. Stay on subject. No side bar have nothing to do with the subject matter conversation.. Awesome thank you. You're Such a professional.
Queen Empress wow thank you so much! ❤️
I made my Rice water and added Peppermint Esential Oil it smells great! I allowed it to ferment for 24hrs then I sprayed it onto my hair, placed a plastic cap/bag on top, then set for about 2 hours before rinsed it out. My hair looked healthier than it had prior to the application and my scalp tingles!!!!
@Shaheena Lomax Do you use the rice water after you shampoo, and do you use a conditioner after the rice water rinse?
Rice water works because it encapsulates the hair but actually smothers it. You get the same result with olive oil. All encapsulating agents damage the hair. BUT, you will get length. And, always look at the texture of the hair of the people doing the video.
So do you not recommend using rice water for hair? Is it that harmful, just wondering
Only if you want dry damaged hair. What does cooked rice produce? Starch water. What happens to starch water when it dries? It powders. That is very damaging to the scalp. If you use it, use it like a conditioner, but rinse your hair throughly. And you won’t get the incredible inches in a week or month like these videos state. Extremely oily hair damage, is not as fast, and as bad as normal hair. Length is not worth health.
@@justinepeabody4534 oh wow thanks for the info ! I find it kind of weird that no one else on the internet says that rice is bad haha
I’ve tried it and it broke off my hair
Lashibadgyal Habibi all encapsulates drys and breaks the hair off. If it’s encapsulated, braided, and oiled, for months, you’ll get length. UNTIL you begin to style again. Then you will get Swift breakage. I really dislike encapsulates.
Good video. Not annoying with all the antics. Straight to the point. Thank you.
thanks for sharing your method! i’ve put lavender essential oil, coconut jamaican black castor oil, and a tad of wild growth in mine. it smells pretty great for now at least. it’s only been 6 hours lol. hope it goes well
I add ginger, garlic, and cucumber water to my mix and use a spray bottle to condition it into my hair. Smells better and works wonders!
Onion water is great too :P

Wash yo rice! Before cooking or anything 😂 I agree
Quinci Gresham wash it how
@@poeticsainttaliban get it. Put it in a bowl of water. I use hot... doesn't really matter. Swirl it around drain and repeat until water is clear. Takes the extra starch off the rice. Tastes better, smells better and cleaner :)
When I make my rice water, I use 3 tablespoons to 3 cups of water and I left mine for three days, but I only noticed faint smell. I think if you leave your rice water for 5 days, then the fermentation smell is very strong. Adding lavender essential oil should help with the smell. I also wash my rice. Thank you very much for your video.
Thank you for sharing! ❤️

Rosemary and or tea tree oil is a good choice for hair products. Also, the white dust/stuff you are rinsing off is starch not dirt. The protein (nutrients) isn’t released until it’s soaked or heated.
