This is AMAZING!!!! I tried it, migrated a site 4.82 gigs approximately 30,000 files. Give or take 35 minutes, flawlessly.

i have been trying to use this metode and got a message "cant migrate from the site that unreachable from internet".
i tried with all-in-one wp plugin too, but i cant import, because only have 2mb limit upload.

What's up with the domain.... how to migrate a site and have the same domain, that's the probblem.
Great tutorial it's nice there's another option out there other than All In One Migration. I doubt any of them are 100% foolproof but if this gets more consistent results moving forward I'll definitely switch. Thanks so much!

Great video. Migrate Guru does appear to be simpler than All in One. You didn’t mention if it limits site size as AIO does. Last migration I did with the AIO plugin has given me a lot of headaches.
From the Migrate Guru Site: Built For Large Sites: Move or clone sites as large as 200 GB in a breeze. Large site migrations usually fail because of live-site server import limits.

Very grateful for your video, all other methods I tried failed. I will note that the migration did take a long time, I thought there was a timeout error, so be patient.

Actually, for a migration you should allow somebody to download and upload your database. When this happening behind the scenes, it will always make me nervous. So I prefer to migrate my websites without such plugins. If you don't care - sure, this solution looks good.

Nice, I have heard praise about it several times now. Process seems very straingt forward. Have you used this on large sites? Like, say 3 - 5 GB?
Yep, never had a problem. Some say it's slower but I don't do it enough to notice that
@@kylevandeusen sadly my first exeperience with it produced serious issues with the migrated site. I am part to blame, as I tested the migrated site slopy so missed all the issues before it went live. :( have to go back to good old wpvivid. PS it is a multisite I had issues with
Hi, I am wondering if this plugin replaces all the urls with the target urls. I have tested a lot of migration plugins and the most do not replace the target urls in all the wp tables in the database.
I'd have to test that specifically, but I've never ran into that issue here (or didn't realize I did 😅 )
They do change the URL in wp tables

I feel like my question is very specific but I'd love some clarification before I try it out ..
I use Hostinger to host all my sites. I have one plan with multiple sites, but I want to transfer ONE of those sites to a NEW hosting plan within Hostinger.
Is this possible through the method you showcased in this video?
Hostinger has a really annoying and complicated process for internal migrations. This would be an absolute life-saver.
P.S. Would your method have any issues with transferring over active MX records? I have emails attached to the domain, but the domain is also in Hostinger. Let me know!

This is by far the best way to migrate a wordpress site. Bar none.
You are sending FTP/CPanel credentials on another site that will take care of the site transfer, is it safe? Probably, I don't know, but I prefer to use methods where I have control of the files/credentials.

This is more about "how to migrate a WordPress website to a new URL rather than just "host". For the record, this is not a go-to plugin when you only want to switch hosting providers and retain your URL.

@@TheAdminBarNo, it doesn't. I tried to move my site to another hosting but it didn't work. It is an incredible plugin for moving sites while changing URLs, not for changing hosting providers and retaining URLs.

This didn't work for me. Had an anxious couple of hours. I THINK that this was to do with permissions(??) or a secruity plugin on the site i was migrating too.

You don't need any plugins to migrate a wordpress site. All you need to do is export your database, change all the url's in that database to your new site and import the sql file into your new database. I did this in 10 minutes

... and migrate all the plugins with their license keys, settings and options, all the media uploads, with any membership, WooCommerce, event plugin options and uploads, custom theme options, stuff in the customizer, ACF/CPT settings, block options etc, etc. And might have to fix your imported posts in the with fix-wordpress-export-wpautop, etc. etc.
Database export/import migration is easy on small sites, but not with larger sites that have lots of stuff that isn't in the database.
@@PaulMcCannWebBuilder I don't use anything that requires payment, so all I can say is that my migration went ok. But you're correct in that it will cause lots of problems. Anyway, I've gone back to static sites, as I couldn't get WordPress to look how I wanted it and it is a very steep learning curve.

One question: how must the target server be, to which I want to move? Do I have to prepare a clean, empty wordpress installation there?
I have to move a large wp installation to a customer's server soon. The problem: the customer's server is in chaos. The theme there is extremely outdated. It's teeming with error messages in the dashboard.

No, you do not **need** to change anything. Just migrate it over. That might leave junk in the database (I'm not sure), but it will work.

Same process - it doesn't matter what the URL is. You'll just point your domain to one server or the other.
I just tried and the migration key failed, Migrate Guru's popup said that it failed on their end and to contact support. I click on support and get a 404 page. Not impressed with Migrate Guru and will try something else.
What kind of sorcery is this?

But one thing it can't do - clone a live site to a local dev site (or the other way around). Their FAQ says they're working on in, but it's from 2017.
I want to give them money so it can do that as easily as it moves a 5GB/50k file site from one host to another.

Thanks for the video. But isn't it a bit too simple? Hardly any website works today without the use of site passwords? This is also asked by Migration Guru. If I try without a password, there is an error.
And: Isn't what you show us at the end as the "result" your source page? Of course you look exactly like that :) Isn't the landing page the second tab? but you don't show it at the end. Or have I misunderstood something?
