Yes I am aware that I shouldn't have got angry and the overtake wasn't really on but, as they say "walk a mile in my shoes". Already been stuck behind a convoy of 3 of the bloody things with drivers completely oblivious that they was a huge queue behind.

You were lucky at the 4 way traffic lights. I was there for ages, so long in fact I pressed the button that is there for cyclists.

Full of pot holes from entering Dumfries and Galloway to Moffat. Beware. Lovely scenery tho

@Roost-w8u yes it's the same on the 701. As soon as you leave North Lanarkshire and enter D&G the road deteriorates. Unfortunately D&G Council are not up to the task

Yes you’re right it was a very dangerous pass especially after slating the IAM for wanting you to overtake. You did start the video talking about a bimble, enjoying the road this doesn’t seem to extend to riding behind a camper van making the dangerous decision to overtake when it clearly was unsafe to do so. Might be wrong but it sounded like you just wanted to pass at any cost.

@SouthWest-jj8yu yes criticism totally justified. I already had to pull over due to being held up for about 12 miles by campervans doing 30 at best so was not in the best frame of mind even with a 15 min break.

@@Teuchteronabike I get that but I always think about these situations like this, if there is a collision no matter who’s fault who is going in the back of the ambulance or worse, the clue is it’s not the camper driver. Another way to stop this happening might be to ask if my son was on the pillion would I have made that pass? If the answer is no (hoping it is) then I shouldn’t do it no matter how frustrated annoyed or angry I am. Always take the safest option rather than the fastest or maybe the I’m annoyed with campers on this road so I’m going to make it my mission to pass any I come across.

As I said, I'm not arguing with you. It was a stupid rash decision when I let my anger and frustration get the better of me. That being said a check of a rear view mirror when you hear honking behind you and maybe pulling over a foot would have been the considerate option. Was there an element of wanting to vent my frustration on him for his selfishness? Absolutely. Was it safe/defensive riding? Obviously not but being held up for miles on a daily basis by these bloody things and their completely oblivious/selfish drivers would break even the most patient person. The bulk of them seem to be hired by people who have never driven anything bigger than the family car and seem so terrified of driving something so large that they drive with white knuckles and with their eyes glued to the road ahead oblivious of everything else around them. I would even go so far as to say caravans are less of a menace

I think your reaction was OTT. How can you judge the campervan driver?...a tourist from Europe, a large campervan and driving on a narrow and unfamiliar two lane B road, on a different side of the road to what he's used to. Ideally he should have pulled over in a passing area but you should also be more patient.

Yup 100% as I've replied to other comments that have essentially said the same thing.

Funny. I don't rate that road at all. To me, there's nothing special about it when compared to other roads...except the Grey Mare's Tail.
Have you tried that wee road that runs parallel to it, Ettrick to Eskdalemuir?
Sometimes it is better to stop for a few minutes and let the bl**dy things get down the road, then again, I've felt the same frustration as yourself at mobile homes.

@wallaceshackleton1889 thanks for watching and for the suggestion. I'll give it a go. You're right, of course I should have pulled over but I was hacked off that I had already had to pull over because I had been stuck behind 3 of them travelling nose to tail for about 10 miles from Selkirk. That's why the video started where it did.
