I personally just see the center of the notes (the white line) and I fallow them to touch in the perfect timing

This is a great question! Most of the time I look slightly above the Perfect+ hitbox, but I'm only looking for lane placement and spacing of the notes relative to each other to determine the rhythm. I'm not 'reacting' visually to tap the note in the box, I'm listening to where it lines up in the music and play the corresponding rhythm.

Wow! That was amazing! Out of curiosity, I'm fairly new to Beatstar and trying to get my basic technique down, and I'd love to know what led you to thumb style. I bounced back and forth between fingertips on phone, fingertips on tablet, thumbs on phone, and found fingertips on tablet to give me the best results, but I'd rather not have to unlearn a bad habit later. :) Are you just doing it the way that naturally felt best, or is there a reason? Thanks!

Thanks for the kind comment! I can play both styles and there are top tier players in both Thumbstyle and Index Style so I'd say play what is most comfortable and consistent for you! I like thumbstyle so I can do tricks with my phone haha
