    Hola, buen día 😃 Quiero decirle que estoy bien agradecido con usted por haber compartido este vídeo tutorial que ha sido de gran ayuda. Yo soy técnico en electrónica y electricidad industrial, pero me apasiona la mecánica y tengo un Sonic 2014 1.6 a quien me gusta darle mantenimiento. Gracias a usted pude eliminar la falla de mezcla de refrigerante y aceite de motor. Todo el proceso completo paso a paso como lo explica me sirvió para eliminar la causa raíz de mi problema. De antemano gracias hermano y saludos👍

    Great Video as always, I do know you don’t have to remove the A/C compressor exhaust or the oil pan to replace the oils pump or water pump in a 2015 sonic 1.4 T.

    Is it possible (even if not recommended) to remove and replace that oil pump assembly without removing the sump? Because it looks like a lot of work to take so much from the front of the car and engine as _well_ as the timing infrastructure

    • @jibajaba5227
      @jibajaba5227 Před 4 lety +1

      The oil pump housing has dowels, so it won't let you slide the housing out without the oil pan removal. And to make things funner, the oil pan/sump on the 1.8L won't clear the frame without lifting the engine a few inches. I didn't have a cherry picker/engine hoist, but you can use a jack and a piece of wood to gently lift the engine a little bit on the corner of the engine block until the oil pan clears. The 1.6L oil pan seems to clear the frame rail, so I hear.

      @@jibajaba5227 Thanks for that info, I'm doing a holden cruze and the oil pump doesnt wan to get out , so im guessing there is some kind of a restriction. Maybe dowels

    Great video. One question. I've noticed that at one point(34 mins) you were going to remove the camshaft sprockets with T55. I assume to remove the rear timing belt cover. But later on the video the sprockets are intact and the rear cover is on. Does the rear cover need to go off for the oil pump assembly removal? Thanks.

    I've got a similar engine (3 door 1.6l Astra H SRI 2011 - I think it's a sports hatch model). Oil in the coolant (not like mayonnaise, just brown oil). The timing belt is due for a change, the air-con won't provide cold air, my coolant is low, and previously I seem to have had oil spray all over the engine compartment (the dipstick was found sticking out approx 3 cm and the oil was well above the maximum mark). I wonder if the coolant was overfilled, over-pressurised, bust either oil pump or oil cooler gaskets and dumped itself into the sump until the pressure equalised with the oil and boiled blowing oil up the dipstick, and now the coolant is lower pressure than the oil so the oil's going into the coolant through the same fault? My front bumper needs to be refurbished also, I feel the suspension isn't as comfortable as it used to be and I'm getting excess road noise which could easily be from the drivers side due to the wheel arch cover, a missing lamp access flap in the drivers side, and excess vibration of unknown origin.
    Should I have the front main gasket (oil pump gasket I think?) and oil cooler replaced at the same time along with inspection and improvements to those other things (bushes and engine mount, etc) because it looks like there's a lot of work to be shared among them?

    I have a car for which I put 5w30 oil, and when I traveled 154,000 km, I put 10w40 oil, but the problem is when I start the car in the morning, I hear crackling in the oil pump.

    Can you share why this car needed an oil pump? The past 2 oil pressure problems I've had to repair were caused by the owners not caring about the oil level inside their engine.

    What is this, You could of gone into detail about the oil pump it’s self isn’t that what the description of this video says. This is bs. Should of just called it how to remove timing cover and explained the purpose of the timing cover gasket
