This is actually really well compiled, even though a number of people don't seem to get it: the video features shots of 100+ mph (=161+ kph) in ascending order by speed. It's a nice build-up, obviously accelerating towards the end. A lot of fastest shots videos are disappointing in that they're full of 80 to 90 mph shots, which don't really deserve to be in an annual shortlist.
Ah, that makes sense. I'm wondering why every shot 2 minutes in has been 100mph or 161kph.
I knew that Ruud had some good pace, but wow I didn't realize he is one of the biggest hitters on tour.
popyrin was the surprise entrant for me
@@boson6336 Same i didn't know POPYBOY was such a brutal hitter
This year has been so good oh my goodness these
Shots are outstanding especially Monfils
Insane
Thanks for liking my comment
Thiem has the only backhand on here! So I guess no one else hit a 100+ mph backhand this year? Gotta love The Dominator!
My favourite shot in the entire video. What an absolute hammer of a backhand that was.🔥
Last year, both Zverev and him hit quite a few.
Alcaraz certainly deserves more clips here…the guy has a bionic arm 🤯
12:41 just ridiculous 🔥
It’s just a lot of Sinner, Ruud and Monfils in here…
Some players featured a lot less than I expected them to, Shapovalov for example
8:18 - Seeing the fuzz come off the ball adds to how hard Opelka hits this 🔥
Bublik at @11:43 looked so surprised that he hit it in off sinners serve
12:39 that forehand for Nadal 😮💨🔥 man 2022 gonna be fun, he’ll be fit healthy and slam no 21 in the bag 🐐
are you come from the future 🤔🤔🤔
I think you meant 22 😊
I miss Delpo's missiles 😢😢
everyone with forehand but thiem was fucking impressive
I just realized that Thiem's backhand shot was faster than a lot of the forehands on this list.
TennisTV can you make a video of every Top 50 players best shot/moment in 2021?
Given how much Miami is featured here I’m thinking the speed gun might be a bit broken at that event, or the climate and conditions allow the ball to travel through the air faster.
Also given how there’s little to no Djokovic, Nadal, Medvedev, Zverev and Tsitsipas in here, it shows that you don’t need to hit hard to be very successful
Miami courts are slow but the heat might lead to ball to travel faster through the air. But the court is definitely sloe
I always think that you cant hit that hard but then there are Monfils, Bublik and Ruud who hit even faster on clay or other courts. I dont think it was broken, just the players adjusting to the courts. You have to hit harder on a slower court to hit a winner.
Thiem is the only guy to appear in this video with a backhand rocket.
13:05, 13:32 paire's legendary forehand at work again.
Sure but just 2 on 100 matchs
my favorites are the return of serve shots...like they're just such dismissals... "get that weak sh_t outta here"
Some of the greatest forehands on tour on display in this video. Plus Paire and Bublik
What about Bublik's other rockets against Sinner in Miami? And surely something from Lord Karatsev?
I love these videos😍😍
@DOHA TV gtfo with your stupid spam
Thiem’s hitting backhand winners at the same speed everybody else is hitting forehands
honestly breaks my heart to not see thiem in here like how he was in the 2020 vid
Only backhand in this list was hit by Thiem
Timestamp please?
BWEEEH!!!
Monfils the least surprising player to feature and Ruud the most surprising
Is it just me or is every shot in this video always 100mph or 161kmh
They're in ascending order by speed, beginning at 100 mph (=161 kph) and finishing at 117-118 mph (190 kph). It's very accurately compiled, except for the fact that it doesn't say it's only about groundstrokes.
Yeah, actually 100mph and 161kmh are the same
@@molybdaenmornell123hopp5 oh thanks for clearing that up lol, I was confused as to why all the shots were the same speed.
Never taught there would be that much Ruud
Very few one handed backhand, no two handed backhand whatsoever... Incredible stats. Was Kenpachi wrong ?
There's something magical about the 100mph, 161kph forehand. You see these speeds so often that they almost seem like solid limits.
And what about the fastest serves?
Insane
request to tennis TV... could you guys enable the option for normal 720p?
the audio lags in the 60fps setting for me... dunno why (Any idea on how to fix that?)
and no one is surprised that Monfils clocks the fastest shot of the year
Yes, even an angry Benoit Paire's forehand return couldn't challenge him.
@@internaute_ whats impressive about Monfils monster forehands is that he isn't even relying on his opponents pace to hit back a powerful shot, he more or less is just like "aight imma finish this rally here.. BOOM!"
Perfect!
Ruud 185 impressed
Some of the shots don't seem that big to the eye but register massive numbers on the speed gun.
11:38
So many hitting at 161km? Amazing
of course thiem has a backhand winner over 100mph on a no pace ball on clay
Definitely the best one hander in the world
Ruud this year goes with hacks
Only thiem could be the only backhand rocket in here😝
why is it always 161 km/h or 100mph
Where is Shapovalov in this vidéo ?
very interesting almost all the shots are 161 kph.. make a video about why this is!
Why’s everything 161km?
You are telling me that 5:58 is faster than 4:58 no way
It's either 100 mph or 161 kmh
Can anyone explain why so many of the winners are exactly 161 km/h?
They are in order, the speeds of the shots gradually go up as the video progresses. They just decided to start it at 100 mph. Faster shots just become less likely, there’s probably like 5000+ winners at 145 kph a year, like 30 at 161kph and like 5 at exactly 170 a year, the lower speeds are just more likely and happen more often…
Et le gagnant est Monfils avec 190km/h
Players that do this kinda stuff are always over 6.2 ft. Feels bad for me that I am 5.6
Ruud is 6 foot according to the ATP…
And they tend to inflate heights and I’ve seen him standing next to other players, he might actually be „just“ 5‘11.
5‘6 is something else tho, but even Schwartzman can hit the ball quite hard on his day with good timing and technique, although not quite as big as these guys but still there’s hope for you
You just have a physical limit because of your stature - improve your technique on maximum. Check Michael Chang’s videos
Is 161 maximum?:)
You didn't finish watching the video?
It’s going in order. Fastest was 190
how freaking lazy are you people? do you like tennis? at all? keep watching.
@@DanielBoonelight they aren't lazy dude. Not everyone is smart enough to understand there are higher numbers than 161. Or that numbers go up as the video continues because it's more entertaining this way.
all shots 100mph / 161kmh... too suspicious.
how is every shot 100 mph
📲 1-й РЕАЛЬНЫЙ ТЕННИСНЫЙ ГАНДИКАППЕРСКИЙ КАНАЛ!
Eh, most of them are off slower higher bouncing balls that give you plenty of time to set up and swing with full force. Disappointing.
Got to expect that. These guys are world class players, not muscular hacks who keep going for shots that aren't on. So they hit fast shots primarily when given the opportunity, so that's what you should expect to predominate in a large dataset. It's the law of large numbers.
First
How boring, sets in 15 minutes, 220 Km speed. It is supposed to be a GAME not a POWER competition. Sorry but it is not why I love tennis. I guess that everything has and end
S
What's wrong with having a few hard shots in the mix? It adds to the variety and the spectacle. It's not like the guys who feature most in this video were dominating the tour this year. Djokovic didn't have a single shot, for example.
Literally no one cares, go cry and watch badminton or something
@@tnuyx9405 Amusingly, badminton actually has faster shots than tennis, at least if measured right after contact. The fastest badminton shot was around 426 kph (264,7 mph).
@@Molybdaenmornellback in 2005 when badminton smashes were still measured once the shuttle crossed the net and the service line on the other side of the court , using radar guns, the fastest smash ever recorded under the old measurement was 332 km/h.
