Recipes: For Cooking Parboiled Rice See Video
Tip: Reduce the temperature (flame) as necessary to
prevent overflow or rice boiling over.
Parboiled Rice 1 cup rice 2 cups water boil for 20 mins
Use a non stick pot or skillet to eliminate excessive stirring. Medium heat/ flame.
    Jasmine Rice
Jasmine Rice to Water Ratio is 1 cup of rice to 1 1/2 cups of water.
Cooking Time: 15 to 20 minutes.
Bring the water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Stir in the rice and the salt; cover and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 15 minutes until all of the water is absorbed. Taste the rice; if it is still too firm, add a few more tablespoons of water.
    Basmati Rice
Basmati Rice to Water Ratio is 1cup of basmati rice to 1 1/2 cups of water.
Cooking time: 15 to 20 minutes
In a medium pot, bring the water, butter, salt, and rice to a boil. Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid, then turn the heat down to a simmer and cook for 15 to 20 minutes, until all of the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.
    Brown Rice
Brown Rice to Water Ratio is 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water but may require more water
In a medium pot, bring the water, butter, salt, and rice to a boil. Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid, then turn the heat down to a simmer and cook for 25 to 30 minutes, until all of the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.

Life as I knew it was changed forever when I finally discovered "Parboiled" White Rice! Just a little more expensive, but cooks up sooo much easier, it's better for you, and most of all.. tastes better too! (easy to overlook on the shelf with the other bags of Rice unless you look closely, but most stores "should" at least have the big bags of Zatarain's brand Parboiled Rice)
