Love seeing Coach Pushing them abit more, I mean realistically, its for the Team Good. And even after watching only the Fever’s 1st Pre-season game, While Dallas seemed full of Energy and Speed, Alot of the Fever Players seemed abit sluggish, just an honest observation. Because I Love The Fever, They are My Team, and I Sincerely know How Good they are, and I want them to be able to Improve. Theres No Question of The Fever Players Oustanding Solid Talent, they all just Need to Improve, and Fine tune everything to be Ready for The Season.
The sad part about the game was, I would see Caitlin get down the court with the ball, and there was no one down there with her to pass it to. She would stand there dribbling waiting for the others to get downcourt, and the post players were so slow.
The coach had the nerve to say Caitlin was slow and gassed. Was she watching the same game I was. Caitlin Clark’s teammates are out of shape. CC team mates were not running down the court. Setting screens or cutting to the basket. I notice that a lot of the WNBA players are out of shape. The players play a lot of ISO BALL which make the game very boring because a lot of them lack the athleticism and skill to finish. Very different from the men’s game. Those men take care of their bodies because the next man up is younger and faster. I see that’s not the case with most of these women in The W. Caitlin was ready and running all over the court trying to get open. Even JC.Sheldon was ready. She seem just as in sank as Caitlin. These WNBA players need to get in shape if the want a better product. If your not in shape having to run will expose you.
They really should get some loud crowd noise playing in their practices - at least for part of the time. They're gonna hear a LOT of it during real games!
If they can get their chemistry right they could easily become what bird and his team was like in the 80s with the Celtics. I easily saw that pass just now just being passed with just her fingertips and that’s the type of passes that the Celtics team did with Bird. With CC & Aaliyah they have the ability to have the best duo this league has in years to come and become champions for years to come but that takes major chemistry and consistency along with conditioning to be able to play at the high level of speed that CC is used to playing at that effects the other team’s ability to keep up. What also needs to happen is with CC having gone nonstop now for over two years with back to back championships runs for Iowa with little to no rest with high media coverage and pressure she is needing all the rest and recovery she can get as well. I understand that the media and the WNBA also needs her for promotion but she too needs to be able to rest and recover if they don’t want her to burn out or risk an injury and end up destroying their chances this year to grow the league. They need to understand that she isn’t there only one that fans are wanting to watch as well and try and spread that media coverage around. Their is Kate in the Aces, Angel & Camilla in the Sky, Their is the UConn girl that guarded CC well in the final four over in the Storm and on and on. If we try and spread out the media coverage and help to bring in more fans for all these players it will help to lower the pressure and demand on CC to give her the time to rest and recover to be able to play at her best and give her the best opportunity to have a full out break out season for herself and the team.
I think when the opposing teams are looking for any advantage talking about a player being really tired during the game and wanting to be subbed only helps the opposition and not your team
Iowa's transition plays were way faster, and they screen better for Cait. Expect the other teams to harrass her real hard, Indiana teammates should provide better help offense.
Iowa also played together for 4 years with CC. These women have had a week. It'll come. They just need to seize those fast break opportunities when they present themselves, and half of seizing them is seeing them, being ready to sprint up the court and run at the rim if your defender has their head turned for a split second.
I watched the replay on CZcams and I've always thought about this. I think Sides understands what kind of talent she has with Caitlin. My concern is does she know how to use a weapon like her. The ball should be in CC's hands as much as possible to generate the offense. The Fever players need to learn to anticipate her passes and hustle up court. Hannah would run circles around them.
Erica Wheeler missed a completely wide open pass on a pick and roll against Wings. It was strange. Maybe players that might get cut are worried about padding their own stats...it just looked weird.
Think about how much more money you’re going to make when you renegotiate your contracts and television deals next year if you can capitalize off of the buzz this year. They all stand to get a major pay raise.
So Coach, not anybody can take the ball down the court. We saw multiple times where anyone not named Caitlin Clark couldn't even initiate the offense on the break. It was obvious from watching the first pre season game that the ball needs to get to Clark ASAP, so she can get the ball in scoring position. That's not to say that the team can't push the ball up the court.
Miss Boston and company need to get in better shape. Stulke looks like a cheetah compared to them. If you can run the floor and get behind the defense Caitlin will find you for an easy layup.... simple.
Alllah has great moves, but needs to work on 4th quarter stamina... she will be playing most of the game. I love to see that clip with the full-court transition workout... CC works on passes Allaih makes it automatic at the bucket... it feels like home..
If ya gonna play with Clark ya better learn to run n then even faster n the blazing n the get your afterburners goin. Iowa lead the nation two straight years in points per game n it wasn't cause they ran like sloths. AB n company need to watch Iowa games to understand how Clark passes n runs the court n show.

Glad coach realizes the bigs need to get faster. This is even much slower than Iowa played.
You're completely right. Hannah would beat Indiana's bigs down the floor all night.

That’s what I was thinking also. Make loud noises so they can adjust the sound. Also like other were saying. They need more cardio
