Pickup Shootout! (Fender CS 69, Fender CS Fat 50s, Kloppmann ST60)

- CS69 and CS Fat 50s were played in a Fender Custom Shop 1968 Heavy Relic Lake Placid Blue guitar.
The Kloppmann ST60 set was played in Fender 75th Anniversary Stratocaster (Made in Mexico).
The Amplifier was a 2021 Fender Pro Reverb Amp.

Inzwischen sind die Fat 50s wieder rausgeflogen aus der blauen Strat und die originalen sind wieder drin.
Bei Gelegenheit werde ich mal das Kloppmann ST67 Set ausprobieren.
To me... the Kloppmann's are very pristine sounding. I think both sets of Fenders had a more organic sound. I liked the 50's , 69's then the Kloppmann's ... in that order. I would settle for any of the three though, they all sounded pretty good.
I've noticed some Fender pickups sound OK but playing them is odd because I can't feel them under my fingers, if that makes any sense. I can't dig into them like a vintage or high-end pickup like a Lollar or Don Mare pickup.
Thanks! Great playing and video for hearing the differences! Thinking about purchasing either the 69s or the Fat 50s for a new Strat project of mine. Somehow the Fat 50s seem to represent a little more the typical Stratocaster sound to me. But the 69s seem to have a slightly fuller tone with more low end and mid range. At the end it may depend on the character of the guitar, which one sounds best. The Kloppmanns sound great anyway.

It's nice that you did this comparison, but it's a comparison of 3 guitars and not pickups because each pickup will sound different on a different guitar. I have Fat 60s in my CS 62 which are considered darker but sound bright on my guitar.🎸

Excuse me. However, the 69s sound very good. In your guitar, they are clearer than the Fat50s, but the 69s also sound similar to Kloppmann.

The Fat50s sound great, but somehow they changed the character of my strat too much.

Wow! Thanks for this! The differences are subtle - I think I like the Fat 50's best but to be honest I'd be happy with any of these with the CS 69s being my least favorite.
Custom 69 is a lit bit brighter ... Fat 50 (bridge) and Custom 69 (neck) = great combination!

Nice job sir! This is why I believe you should only demo gear if you can play well. This dude obviously knows his way around a Strat. This allows us to hear the nuances of the different pickups easily. Many folks who demo gear on CZcams should spend their money on lessons instead.
Schöner Vergleich. Für mich sind es die Kloppmänner. Die CS69 sind o.k., die Fat50 th. klingen zu flach und modern. Ich persönlich habe van Zandts und Q Pickups verbaut. Insbesondere die letzten sind ein absoluter Geheimtipp ..

Those kloppman pickups might sound ok if they’re played in their own, but get outclassed in this side by side. They just sound kind of sterile compared to both of the Fender pickups.
Schade, wegen der unterschiedlichen Gitarren sind nur die 69er mit den Fat 50s vergleichbar.

Great playing, great sounds but reduce the head wobble all the time
CS69 sound best to me - without any doubt. Kloppmann last (too bright, non-organic sounding).
The 69’s buy a country mile. The Kloppman’s were my least favorite. They were way too bright.
