The boy can get bail but his parents and bartender plus owner plus the traffic police that could not detect and stop a speeding car must go to jail for NOT making the child do all that he is asked to do to get bail. I will consider that fair.

I disagree, the Minor law should be for less than 10 years age group, at 12 years children gain maturity to understand the world around them and should learn to respect other lives around them and also have the fear of law. There are a huge number of cases where punishment isn't met out, Our country should set a different example. The crooked law system is the biggest problem in India, that is why people want to run away from here and settle in other countries. Nowadays you can see 11 year old's running highspeed on two wheelers with no care, and they only get a slap on the wrist if they commit a crime.

Though I agree with your opinion, I would like to bring to notice that our so called well educated, rich, civil society has lost touch with our Indian values. We are educating our kids to make more money, but fail to instill values, honesty, integrity ,humility, respect for adults etc. Media, internet, movies, etc glorify consumption of alcohol, drugs , violence, divorce, live in, LGBTQIA....., smoking, debauchery, etc. We all want to emulate the west , talk like them, dress like them, eat like them, smoke and drink like them too... consequently we have parents running after money and fame 24×7, or partying all the time... meanwhile kids are either ignored or over pampered... in both cases they feel entitled and justified to do drug and alcohol. Never mind the handful super rich family like in this case... even our middle class &aspiring rural class is not spared .

Instead the cops kept asking how are the two victims related and their relationship?

People present on the site of accident should give their verdict and punishment on the spot because this could have happened to them. They are at risk of life for them and their families. Only the law and jurisdiction is not the problem, citizens are equally responsible for this corruption.
