    Thank you. I’m new and it took me 2 hours to build a box out of medium priority mail boxes yesterday. I sold 3 out of my first 10 wreaths last weekend. I can’t believe I never thought about how I was going to ship them until they sold. I also made one of them 26” 🙄
    So, you taught me two things today.

    If you take the time to measure it right you can make a smaller box with the correct size flaps without the extra piece. I cut the side and flip the box inside out to hide the Walmart writing. I find I don't need to use as much tape and I add a fragile sticker also from Walmart. The package is your first impression to you customers!

    Man I thought this video saved my day. I have 4 wreaths I made on 20 inch frames that I can not get boxes for anywhere! Uline won't sell to me because I'm not a business and everyone wants to sell in bulk lots. When you said you fit 22 inch wreaths in these boxes I was elated. I figured maybe they just fit in on a tilt or something since obviously 18×18 is smaller than a 22 inch circle. But you must be measuring fluff to fluff to get the 22 inch width making them on a smaller frame to fit in that size box.
    If you have any secrets for larger framed wreaths please do share. I'd like to ship these 4 I made for baby gifts. I've learned my lesson- bigger is not better when it comes to wreaths lol.
    Thanks!

    Thank you! I needed an affordable and easy way to store the wreaths I made. Previous ones would get squished no matter how much I try to keep them safe, so I needed to try something new. Since I recently took down my summer wreath I can not put off thinking of new storage ideas. Going to see if I can find boxes this size in my area.

    I'm so glad I found you! Thank you for such an informative tutorial. I'm the kind of person who freezes a 1/4 cup of leftover green beans, or corn, or cabbage, or taco meat to use in a big ole pot of vegetable soup come mid-winter. I even save and freeze the end pieces of bread loaves or that last piece of cornbread for use in my Christmas dinner dressing. Making double the number of boxes for the same money (or less) spent on one is Right. Up. My. Alley. To be honest, I had to watch this twice. The first go 'round was ALL about those adorable kittens. How you managed to step over them without pausing for a cuddle is beyond me! :) I'm a Subscriber. Thank you!

    Thanks for showing this. I just made two wreaths that were 30 X 30. I have searched everywhere locally for boxes. I noticed Uline you had to buy in quantity, like 25 was the least. That is somewhere I will buy if I have more wreaths that big to make. I appreciate the tutorial on using the Walmart boxes, making two out of one. That will be something I will try on the smaller wreaths in the future. Great video.

    • @Wildekyle
      @Wildekyle  Před 6 lety +1

      Thank you. Yes, 30 x 30 is consider over sized so shipping is VERY expensive if going outside of your local zone. 108 inch girth is a regular sized box. anything over that is over sized. so its length x 2 plus width times 2 plus heights. Right off the bat the width and length are over sized (120 ") not counting the height. Boxes like that are very hard to find unless like you say, ordering lots. I'm glad this could help!

      I just added this to a couple of wreath sites. I hope it helps. I would need exact address to calculate but it's going within two zones so not as much as cross country. Keep your box under 108 girst and it wont be oversized and that will keep the cost down. Hope this helps! Traci Tansill‎Wreath Creations & More

      I have seen a lot of questions regarding shipping and I wanted to try to help some of you see the charges that USPS (which in most cases is the least way to go because of weight)
      calculates shipping. I am in zone 5,WA state. If I ship right around me, in OR or WA, my shipping charges on an 18x18x6 box which NOT an oversized box and weighs 4 lbs, will cost in the neighborhood of 6 dollars and some change. IF my box goes OVER the mountains IN WA it will cost me more but still only about 8 dollars nd some change. I am shipping in my zone and I am NOT oversized and I am NOT over weight. If I ship to CA, I am STILL in my zone but ferther away and it will cost me more like 10.00 and change and the ferther away I get in my zone it goes up. If I ship to NY or FL or anywhere in zones 1, 2 OR 3 and that depends on WHERE in those zones, my shipping is close to 22.00 for an 18 x 18 x18 box NOT over 4 lbs. and when I say NOT over I mean by 1 ounce! and NOT over sized and by that I mean NOT 1 inch over 108 inches girth. Looking at this map and knowing the weight of your product is vital for shipping. ANYTHING over 108 inches girth is oversized BUT if you are shipping within your zone it will still be considered oversized if you go over but it will not cost the amount an over sized box would cost from zone 6 to zone 1. You can sign up at Stamps and it will give you the option of ground which I always use in my own zone if I can because it can run less expenzive. AND USPS does NOT offer it. BUT if I ship across country it is sometime only a few cents more to ship priority.
      These big huge wreaths are pretty but if you intend to ship all over the US, it would benifit the customer to downsize your wreath so it's economical for them to have it shipped. This is why ALL of the Christmas wreath companies are so strict about the weight and size of their wreaths because they ship nation wide. I included USPS box calculator and a picture of the zones. I hope this helps a little. :)

    How much does it cost you? I was shipping wreaths different sizes and weights- it varies by size, weight and how far it's going at the post office, now!
    So, it's hard to figure how much to charge.
    I just had an order and if i figure my supplies, Etsy's cut, my shipping costs I won't make hardly any profit.
    Unless I can get the shipping cost very low.
    I dk how you sell wreaths, buy I was doing craft shows and Etsy. I'm not making much. My products are good, maybe i should ask more? I just don't have a name or large following yet. Do you have any tips how to get more customers and tips for the best way to sell wreaths?
    I love your video, btw- So Helpful💕

    • @Wildekyle
      @Wildekyle  Před 7 lety +2

      For me, shipping from Washington state it is USPS. If my wreaths were heavier it would be UPS. I ship through Staps . com because it will give me the option of Standard shipping instead of Priority and sometimes that is less, especially if it is within my own Zone. Hope this helps!
