Taylor Davis Greetings from Spain Taylor. Really this song has touched you touching the perfection. Thanks for posting videos with this category. Thank you very much from my.
love you Taylor Davis
What were you running from??? Was the violin monster coming to get you?? Very well played.....and your smokin gorgeous.
2024 listeners?
I’m here brother 😅
Some movies just have that one moment when you hear the music and it feels so amazingly good.
This and the gael were perfectly suited for mohicans definitely, stirring something in the soul
And it is forever ❤
Music you can feel in your bones
The hair stands on ya when you listen to it. It is truly a special song.
When I am feeling down all I have to do is put this on and now this girl is unreal even makes it better
There's something about Irish and Scottish music that moves the inside of me. I REALLY enjoyed your version.
Any recommendations? I love music that can invoke a strong reaction.
that's because it is baked into your DNA from centuries ago. Crazy, right? Does the same to me.
Same Here! 🤯
@@Obi_Juan_Kenobithe entire last of the Mohicans soundtrack where this song is from would be a good start. Cora or fort battle specifically
@@Chungus581 thanks for the recommendation, but I did that long ago. 😅 Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Some movies as The Last of Mohicans you never forgot for the musical soundtrack. One of the best picture ever made.
Q,
Really this picture is one of the best ever made. But there are another like the Godfather directly by Franco Ford Coppola in the Decade of 8 0. In this motion picture you have one of the best soundtrack of the cinema. Besides the excellent performance of Marlon Brando as Don Vitor Corneone boss of the Italian mafia.
ABSOLUTELY
I worked in a cinema at the time of its release, I always made sure was there at the end as Promontory was playing.
Along with Braveheart, Titanic and Gladiator Musical score
I never get sick of this song. Well done.
Yeah never
I still get goosebumps.
Absolutely a forever good song.

It reminds me of Uncharted 4, when Nate & Sam are solving the puzzle with the statues on the last island before Libertalia & when Nate goes after Sam when he decides to go after Avery's treasure.
This piece of music is one of my all time favorites. "The Last of the Mohicans" is a great movie and beautifully filmed and scored and acted. It is under rated. Ms. Davis does a great job.
I love the way she does a "Hawkyeye" at the end, sprinting into the distance...
The name of this tune is "The Gael", originally written by Dougie Maclean. Promontory is a part of the movie where The Gael is played.
But on the original soundtrack the name of the opening track is actually: "Promontory"
Taylor Davis is covering here the OST version, not Dougie McLean version that he use to play on the concerts.
This is credited as “promontory” on one version of the movie soundtrack. Idk why but there’s at least two versions. One has this as The Gael, the other as Promentory
They’re the same, Jesus Christ, shut up and enjoy the music people.
This never gets old. Not only one of my favorite movies, but my favorite violinist playing it.
Got here 7 years later. But immediately fell in love with the music. This is very heart touching.
also 7 years to late lol
7 years and 2 months late for me 😔
Same here, better late than never :)
It reminds me the flood of the minoan civilization
@@germaxicus6670 I’m late too but my favorite commercial has this song in it.

This was back when Steven Jackson was such a badass. I loved that dude.
One of my favorite movies. This music played in my head many times in Afghanistan. It makes me shake these days.
Excellent playing
Thank you for your service, it's very emotional.
I always thought if i had to go war this song would play in my head. Thanks for your service.
yoooo big facts i used to LOVE listening to this in the truck on missions
This hands down one of the most spectacular and breathtaking melodies I've ever heard and your interpretation was amazing - just like landscape behind you!
This is the way its suppose to be played, and what a back ground, the Grand Tetons mountains. A great rendition.
Watching and Listening to this in the middle of the Pandemic makes me forget whats happening in the outside world, Simply Just amazing

From the 1992 film The Last Of The Mohicans. This musical piece originally entitled The Gael, was composed by Scottish singer songwriter Dougie Maclean for his 1990 album called The Search. It was later adapted for the film and entitled Promentory.
thanks:)
I think it is rather fitting, since the film is partially based on Fort William-Henry, commanded by a Scottsman.
actually it was wrote by vaggelis
really thanks
Exactly . A song for a Scottish struggle. Also any any struggle against any yolk.
What's not to like? Beautiful girl. Beautiful scenery. Beautiful playing.
Amazing Taylor Davis is so gifted. I love the way she picked that scenery herself. The view just gave the music that much more of a harmonious comforting hug. Honestly watching her wailing on the violin is so intense, gentle, powerful, mystical and synchronized all at the same time. I love the background and the view, I found the entire video exquisitely perfected. Bravo 👏
Definitely a fan.
The scenery is rugged, neutral, and constant, just like life and this music. None of us can ever say that it isn't all powerful though.
That is unbelievable! What are the chances of finding a perfectly good Violin lying on a beach in the wilderness??
Amazing.

Thank you very much for the wonderful music.
The Last of the Mohicans is a movie I'll never forget.
Taylor's violin touches my heart.
So much emotion in that tune. The sound of freedom and revolt, so appropriate with the times we live.

Hey! Loves from an actually democratic country!
One of the greatest and most powerful themes in all of film. And what a beautiful, worthy rendition. Thank you, Taylor. Phenomenal work as always.
It's a warm summer night in 2021,listening to this takes me back to 1992, a good year fondly remembered. Taylor is 100% talent.
I still get goosebumps when i hear this such a beautiful piece of music. Hauntingly beautiful.
This track is absolutely gorgeous, what a talented girl taylor is,this has me in tears every time I watch it

After digging through CZcams and only seeing a few who play this and actually make it sound good. You are one of the few who play this song and don’t blitz through it. This is going in my favorites.
This has to be one of my favorite covers. Miss Taylor you bring this life. The feeling you bring to this iconic piece is alsome. Thanks miss Taylor.
Thank you.
I love that movie and music.
I'm a Hungarian man.
Violin is part of our culture and values.
Much love xx
Makes me sad and happy i dont know why , i love this song any way
I think all good music does precisely this. Smiling while a tear is running down your face is the most stirring and humbling point in life. Recognition of each others humanity. A feeling and emotion that transcends. Understood but immediately unexplainable. A great persons funeral. An massive underdog falling just short of a championship. Finding a perfect mate. A moment of crowd unison at a concert. Holding a helpless and beautiful child. Realizing we are all connected and not alone. Life flows. Ups and downs with the music. We continue. We change slightly. Yet we are always the same instrument. The day we all play in harmony will be a magnificent one. Cheers.

@@blakejameson1114 Very nice, Blake. Very poetic and you encapsulate so much in just a paragraph--Thank you.
Because that‘s how life is - bitter-sweet...
I am impressed to my soul, such music goes to my soul and is carried by my heart. For those that only wanted to live as themselves, long may those have peace. Through your music and heart that is clearly in it, we we walk the path.
This absolutely beautiful, blood-rushing music, completely complimented the Movie's extraordinary Cinematography
being native American this cover pumps me up, one of the best covers I ever heard good job
Thank you!
actually this is a Celtic song originally called the Gael but as a fellow native American I totally agree this is awesome
tlc4113 It's called the Gael - it was originally written by Dougie MacLean, a scottish musician.
so what, it belongs to any one that loves it and what they get out of it is there oun! I love this young ladies music!
>being native American
>getting pumped up over a Celtic tune
This always makes me cry, in Scotland we call 'The Gael'
Yeah I listened to the Royal Scots Guard version it was awsome to
I love Scotland. Wish I could live there
Its also so good on the bagpipes
It's actually best on the bagpipes, violin is a close second, though!
Same here. This tune should be shown in some War movie. I am a World War II movie lover. Love Wartime Romance drama also.
This song deserves (almost requires) that it be played outdoors, in such a spectacular setting! Absolutely loved it! Nicely done, Taylor Davis.
Back in 1990 on New Year's Day, I was hiking in the Olympic Mountains of Washington State. It was a cold, and foggy day, but extremely awesome with the fog pouring over the snow capped mountains, and filling in the valleys below.
Far in the distance, someone was playing bagpipes, and it took my breath away. So peaceful and serene. If I closed my eyes and then reopened, I would have thought I was in Scotland. This performance transported me back to that day, and I THANK YOU, Taylor.
So, after 8 years this video finally pops up. One of my favorite themes. Nice scenery... and the background too.
Music, Scenary, Girl, everything in this video is so Beautiful! 😍
I impressed. Beautiful sound of the violin made the melody even better
I drown myself in another world when I listen to this music. Absolutely soul stirring. You've done an amazing job.Thank you Taylor Davis!!!! (And oh, yes I love love the movie as well). ♥️ From Hong Kong.

My absolute fav movie of all time, and my fav theme song of any movie ever. Since im 1/16th cherokee, native, this hits hard and i truly love it!! THANK YOU!!
I watched this before watching the movie. While watching it I said to my mom (We were watching it together) "I feel like I know this from somewhere..."
It took a little digging, but I managed to find were I first heard it! Thank you for the lovely cover, and all your other music, I never get tired of hearing your cover of it!
I know it's kind of late to leave a message but, that sound, and music is so beautiful, and haunting. I cans see the survivors in the last few minutes of the movie, looking out, as you did with your wonderful strings of amazing memories.
As another Native.
I just gotta say:
You totally nailed the tone.
Nate W. This is a scottish tune lol.
+Saddam Hussein this is an American tune
Colton Reynolds No
Celtic music!!
Colton Reynolds hahahah no.European and Gael to be more precise of Irish,Welsh and Scottish Origins.
One of my favorite movies. Music stole my soul. A beautiful Lass playing the violin as well
I always remember how badass the end of the movie was when I hear this. Man Wes Studi was born to play Magua. He didn't even need to talk or emote and he STILL succeeded at making you despise him. The only time you really see him react to anything was when the father took revenge on him for what he did. THAT was the best part of that movie, imo. It was like watching Levi drop the Beast Titan LOL
"Didn't even need to talk or emote and still succeeded at making you despise him."....well put. Though it sounds a lot like my years in middle school, lol.
This incredible music takes me to the scenes in the ‘Last of The Mohicans’
This incredible music takes me to the scenes in ‘The Last of The Mohicans’-where the ‘final battle’ between the French Indian and the Last Mohican have Combat ... and when they’re behind the waterfall and they’re running from the British! And they jump the falls ... Day Lewis is great in this classic ...
I agree, it is an underrated film. He was brilliant as well as the other actors. Some movies you never tire of watching when it pops up on TV and this is one of them.
@@bernadettefarrell8161 In my opinion it is Daniel's greatest picture and of of my top 5 favorites of all time.
Justin Hogan I have to agree with you, mine too. He’s one of those actors that if you see a new movie coming up you automatically know you have to watch it.
They weren't running from the British. They WERE British. This was set in a pre-revolutionary American colony.
This SELDOM pops up on TV....just ordered the DVD.
Beautiful music, beautiful performance, beautiful Tailor Davis !
Sounds as awesome as the first time, and evertime for 9 years now. Looking forward to many more years. Great job.
If you're curious, the scenery in the background is the Teton Range in Wyoming and shot on the shores of Jackson Lake.

Simply Incredible. The music touches your soul.
Just. Flipping. Incredible. Nuff said.
This is one of my favorite songs for trail running in the glorious Rocky Mountains a bit south of there. You nailed the music and the stunning backdrop for your video.
That was beautiful Ms. Davis. I call it "music that sings," and it brought tears to my eyes.
incase u didnt notice she proudly showed off her engagement/marriage ring in the video very clearly, i guess calling her Ms.Davis instead of Mrs.Davis would actually seem wrong!! guess she put her ring finger n her ring on it sooooooo clearly in the video was for a reason! although honestly i dont like people forcefully imposing their personal life so aggressively on such a public platform, but i guess she loves her ring(metaphor) more than her art...!!! no wonder 2300 dislike... plz dont misunderstand me, i liked it of course, except for what i pointed out!!
Incredible! Added benefit with The Tetons in the background. Possibly one of my favorite tunes of my 60+ years.
Here's the part as a grown man with children that I cry......The Gael has me blown away. It's a song I'm grateful that no one attempted to put words to. It hits bones when it's played. From the way you play it hit your heart as well. Great job sweety. You found a new fan. A 12 string guitar picking just a little under your volume would be killer........awesome job again. May God continue to bless your ability to play with such heart.
This piece of music is every bit as lovely and captivating as this young lady is!👌

A beautiful and talented young woman. I'd never saved a violin video, or subscribed to a violinist's CZcams channel before... until now.
İt is like violin cries when you play. You are the best!
This is my favorite film theme of all time. Last of the Mohicans has been one of my favorite films and stories since I was a kid. It is truly a unique American epic that every American needs to read. The French and Indian war and the colonial period was such a mesmerizing and fascinating period. I'd love to have lived in the eighteenth century fighting French and Indians and exploring the vast wilderness that wouldn't become settled for a long time to come.
If you fought the French and Huron/Wyandot chances are you'd die
