    I am getting it. Thank you for showing us, and reminding about how sometimes when water is all absorbed there may still be dry soil inside the block. So add more, so you have to pour it off, to make sure. Wothy of the time it takes, the reward is so great.

    Nice video and demo. I have cousins who live in North Carolina and you must live there because that is how they say water.

    When you first start your blocking do you mist spay them until the germination has started?

    Do you only water your newly propagated seeds on the seed mat once a day too? I am having a problem with mold.

    How do you get such even germination? Even with a heat mat mine do not all germinate at the same time :/

    Do you put the soil blocks on a heat pad? Also do you put them under lights as well?

    How do you keep track of what variety seedling you have in each tray?

    • @lazygardens
      @lazygardens Před 4 lety +3

      If you look at the trays, it looks like each tray is labelled on the end with the name of the plant.

    It looked like there might be fertilizer in your water?

    • @CocoaHerBeansness
      @CocoaHerBeansness Před 4 lety +2

      some soil just mixed with the water.
      you never fertilise seedlings since they have all the nutrients they initially need inside them and they'll rot if you add any more.

      some plants need warmer temperatures or particular humidity to germinate.
      also, some plants need a very long season to mature properly so you might want to start them early indoors before things warm up in spring.

    What is the advantage of soil blocks? Seems like a lot of work and less economical vs using standard 10/20 trays!
