I read ”Assassin’s Blade” as the third book and I'm so happy I did because we had a lot of Celaena in “Throne of Glass” and “Crown of Midnight”, and in AB you get to know her better and understand all the choices she made in the first two books. A lot of “aha moments”. This is me and I've heard many people enjoying reading it first too! I'm tandem reading EoS and ToD right now and that was a great decision! 🤩

Girl, I was gasping, giggling, yelling and sobbing throughout Iron Flame. I absolutely love having all the emotions so for that reason i LOVED IRON FLAME and all the theories swirling around have me on the edge of my seat!! After hearing it's going to be a 5-book series, I very much expected some huge cliff-hanger events to set up the rest of the series. ALSO, im in the middle of A Seven Year Slip and I already know its about to be a 5 star for me
No I loved it too and I also agree I felt so many emotions while reading and especially because I have such an attachment to the characters!!! But it was just too long and took me forever to get through!
GIRL I HEAR YOU IRON FLAME WAS SO BAD😭😭😭 I adoreddddd fourth wing and I was so disappointed in iron flame! I think it was probably in part rushed by booktok hyping it up so much and Rebecca attempting to get it done as soon as possible to satisfy the mob. I’ve heard she is planning to take more time in the next book though so i hope that’s the case!
DEFINITELY read The Assassins Blade FIRST!!! I am currently on the tandem read (Empire of Storms & Tower of Dawn) and I still think about that TAB daily. It really was a great start to the series + it was based before Throne of Glass so I like reading books in timeline order !
Yes!!! I strongly agree with everyone in the comments. The Assassins Blade is definitely worth reading first! You get a better idea of who the characters are along with very important background information. I honestly felt more connected (yes emotionally lol) and fully invested in the TOG world by reading it that way! And so far looking back personally on my experience with the SJM world and her books- yes! 1.) ACOTAR 2.) TOG and then reading Cresent City last is a much better experience and so much more fun!!! I promise! So excited for you!! 😆📖⚔📚🧚♀️👑🐉💫 Btw, i finished The Graham Effect over Thanksgiving weekend and I freaking LOVE IT!!!! 💙💙💙💙💙
Great video! I recommend you read Assassin's Blade before Queen of Shadows. This way you will already know Celaena as a character. And you don't have to switch between ToD and EoS. It's perfectly fine to read them one after the other because otherwise its pretty confusing imo. 😊
as someone who read TOG, CoM, and then Assassins Blade I do sorta wish i read Assassins Blade first because I feel like you'll understand the strength of the FMC and then feel almost more attached to her in the other books. I'm planning my reread and gonna do it that way. I didn't totally mind AB third because I felt like I had known the FMC and it just made me appreciate her so much more knowing what she went through to make her the way she is BUT, there are a lot of callbacks to AB in the following books and I think it is more sentimental knowing what happened in those callbacks. SO, sorry that was so long and prob made no sense but I suggest AB first and I wish I had done it that way!!

Unpopular opinion BUT please read assassins blade 4th! This is because QOS, EOS and TOD highlight characters and main events in assassin’s blade that you’ll probably forget if you read it first specifically in QOS where main character really revisits things that happened in Assassins blade. It’ll also be a much more emotional read if you read it 4th if you’re into that.
Please please please read assassins blade first. I did that when i read the series the first time and i can seriously not imagine reading it halfway through. Due to the fact its continuous short stories i think it would pull you out of the main story as they are all set before throne of glass. Also i didnt do the tandem read because i didnt know it was a thing and that just seems like too much work😅 but then chaols book was too much work to get through 😂😂
I wanted the barnes and noble special edition of Powerless but the edges look funny and I couldn't make myself get it. lol not sure how to explain it but every page has some lil design on it so when the book is closed you see all these lil lines striking the pages on the top and along the whole side and it just wasn't it for me. I still think about getting it anyway cuz you are right its a nice edition. someone let me know if its just an error on the books at my location
I finished fourth wint a few days ago and have to wait a month to get iron flame and I’m so annoyed I have to wait for it! As well as the 3rd book to the tog series
Reading “A little life” while going through seasonal depression might not be the best idea 😅 i did the same ( read it in winter after my final exams - definitely a bad idea) n it made me depressed for 1 whole month like actually depressed 😅 . So ya just an advice ♥️
