After All These Years was a hit (No. 9 at Billboard). Great musicians do covers like Journey (played songs of Ledzep). There are famous artists who love performing cover songs like Halsey, Miley, Post Malone, All Time Low, etc. Being too prideful gets you nowhere. AP loves to do covers coz he loves music. Steve Perry was already a past. Most people has accepted the reality of Journey based on packed arenas
